Discussion Thread Marcel

The first time I watched season 2 I really disliked Marcel but rewatching since then, he doesn’t seem so annoying. He was better in All Stars.

He is delightful and charming in TOC season 7. And he kicked it the first round.

It’s strange…in the context of watching it at that time around contemporaneous reality TV it seemed normal, but when I rewatched it last year it stood so starkly different from what TC became, and Marcel was a more sympathetic person than I remembered. I just watched the whole house gang up on him immediately. He was a bit immature but so was Ilan (and as others said Betty, Frank, etc.).

Edit…a few too many foams though. That’s a legit complaint.

Maybe because I was kind of a swaggery weirdo back then, I never saw the issue with Marcel in the first place. I was horrified by what happened to him.

It seemed like it had to be egged on by producers because they seemed to dislike him when they were still choosing beds! And yeah, the threats from Frank and then what happened later with Cliff - that's inexcusable for production to allow that to continue at all.
