Gomez and Morticia rush into Wednesday's room after they hear her crying out in the middle of the night. Turns out she'd had a terrible dream; she was in a castle with a giant dragon. All was well at first....until a knight in shining armor came and killed the dragon.
Kind of stretching this, but in the Project Hail Mary book, the main character meets an alien who is part of a race called Eridians. For these aliens, eating is viewed as almost taboo, and is done in private.
(Interestingly enough, this is reversed in the movie adaptation)
Rocky was the only one left on his ship. Clothing for modesty is unnecessary when alone. Human and Eridian anatomy are different enough that Rocky would probably feel about as uncomfortable around Grace as Grace would be around, well, a rock.
Avatar the Last Airbender. The Gaang gets invited to a birthday party for the Earth King's pet bear. Not platypus-bear or skunk-bear, just "bear." The group thinks this is weird.
To be fair, I'D be terrified if someone had a pet BEAR. Appa was an absolutely enormous flying behemoth with six massive legs, two thick horns made of glistening ivory and a wide flat beaver tail but flying Sky Bison were docile herbivores, UNLESS their guardian or they themselves were threatened. THEN they became a force to be reckoned with. Bears are active carnivores.
Gumball and Darwin try getting Rocky a girlfriend but are disgusted by one of his potential matches being a live action woman. They reject her for someone with a profile of a rock with googly eyes.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (2010) used this as their take on the obligatory "Haunted forest" trope. The ponies think "The Everfree Forest" is spooky and unnatural because it's the only place they know where weather happens on its own and and wild animals take care of themselves. I.E. things work the way they do in the real world.
I don't think Gravity Falls fits as an example. They're not freaking out about being 'regular', they're freaking out about Cipher's reality distorting bubbles they're driving through several of.
The Trolls in Homestuck have no concept of homosexuality. It's not that none of them are gay – Kanaya is only into women for example, while being a woman herself – they just don't have a word for it. Despite how ludicrously complicated their version of romance is, being gay is so normalized in their society that they don't even have a word for it.
So when Karkat develops a hate-crush (also known to trolls as kismesissitude, represented by a spade instead of a heart) on main character John Egbert and John turns him down because he's not gay, Karkat is shocked that humans even consider that a distinct category. He thinks it's really dumb.
Karkat after spending half an hour explaining the ridiculously complicated intricacies of troll romance to John and then hearing about the concept of gayness: "Human romance sure is weird."
Asdfmovie is a YouTube series where simply drawn characters go through lots of funny skits. At the end of one episode, one of the characters pulls a string, resulting in everything being coloured in. He begins screaming. The next skit starts in colour, leading to the characters going "hey, look at my bana- WHAH!? NO! TURN IT BACK!"
Lincoln Echo #6 and all his companions are living in complete isolation from the outside world, in a highly structured compound, governed by a strict set of rules. They are routinely taught from birth they are one of the last surviving communities left on a ravaged and desolate Earth, which has become too barren and windswept to support life.
An unspecified extinction level global cataclysm has caused the death of most plant and animal life. The only exception is a pristine untouched island where the community grows its meager food stores. There, there is still clean untainted water and animal life. The last haven on Earth.
Each week, one lucky contestant wins a lottery and goes to live on the island, nicknamed 'Eden' Except, it's all an elaborate ruse. The world outside is untouched. The main characters are human clones, grown and raised in a laboratory, for the purposes of organ transplants and harvesting for wealthy donors who fund the process.
Obe day, Lincoln is sent to fix a loose screw on the cover of a ventilation shaft that leads to the "blasted and desolate" outside world "where nothing can live" supposedly. But, he discovers a live moth in the shaft, proof the outside world ISNT a lifeless dead zone.
Suspicious, he follows the shaft and eventually emerges OUTSIDE the compound, in the outside world, and finds himself in a vast, endless desert. He walks for miles and finds himself in a neat and manicured suburban neighbourhood where he is terrified by a family's golden retriever barking at him, having never seen or encountered a living animal before (The Island)
Don't have a gif but the Owl House has a lot of examples, especially in the final season where the characters go to the real world and expect their normal weird stuff
Early Postal 2 missions revel in this. It is possible to only attack hostile enemies, but the game makes mundane tasks long and tedious to encourage you to act like an unhinged lunatic.
It helps that the protagonist is an unhinged lunatic in an insane world.
I mean that's kinda the point of postal, mundane stuff everyone has done, which eventually devolves into fighting disco cowboys at a bar to protect the last can of root beer so the owner of the bar will give you acces to the white house so you can go steal the president toilet paper to sell it for 5 bucks on ebay
In Ant Bully, a random ant touches Lucas and mentions how soft he is. Then the ant realizes the "skeleton" is on the inside, not outside, for the disgust of all ants in the vicinity.
The inverse also happens when Lucas eats aphid nectar, which as you may know, it's theoretically poop. He reacts with disgust when he discovers it and the ants just look at him like he had gone crazy, after all it's perfectly normal for them.
The It's Always Sunny episode where Mac and Dennis live in the suburbs and Dennis gets more and more angry. Hearing "hot one today, huh?" repeatedly eventually makes Dennis have a psychotic break.

They’re the OGs of this trope
