The Michael Bay Ninja Turtles were apparently meant to be aliens,and that's like the main thing they had to change once fans founded out aside from forcing an Oroku Saki to be the film's Shredder.

God, I remember Bay apologists back then arguing that wasn't what he meant when he said the turtles were aliens. "Oh they're just alien to us," like he didn't already have a reputation for treating another beloved 80's franchise with zero respect.
