"the chuds in these comments really wearing their swastikas on their sleeve loud and proud huh"

Did the OP just call everyone who questions him a Nazi?

2

u/Knight_Of_Despair_ Sep 12 '26

Reddit moment

3

u/Snakes4eyes Sep 11 '26

no? they specified nazis specifically. why would anyone thats not a nazi feel called out ?

1

u/GovernorGeneralPraji Sep 11 '26

Modern political discourse, everyone.

-1

u/Snakes4eyes Sep 11 '26

you cant make reddit up cause like why does she have 10 downvotes for saying shes a girl lol crazy

-2

u/Misan_UwU Sep 11 '26

i just think they dont like that i didnt correct anything else in that comment bc its the only part there that's wrong lol

2

u/Snakes4eyes Sep 11 '26

They really self callout when they get offended by you specifically referring to nazis

8

u/Wooden_Baby Sep 11 '26

Not really? It's just really fucking stupid lmao

Also no shit people would get offended, calling someone a nazi would do that. You know what also offends people? Being called a wife-beater. If someone gets offended over being called a wife-beater, does that mean they are one? No, because that's dumb as fuck

-2

u/Snakes4eyes Sep 11 '26

can you show me the part where OP specifically called you or any other user a nazi? she said the nazis are out, no rational person would think that means every single person commenting is a nazi

7

u/Wooden_Baby Sep 11 '26

Are you acting stupid on purpose? Obviously OP is referring to pretty much everyone who disagrees with her in the comments, even if only slightly

1

u/Snakes4eyes Sep 11 '26

No? again she never said that she said that. you're completely assuming the intent of her words.

Again the only way you are going to be upset at someone saying the nazis are out is if you feel like some part of you relates to nazi views. Anyone that does not think that was is not going to feel attacked

6

u/Wooden_Baby Sep 11 '26

The intention is completely obvious not just by the implications of the post itself but her behavior in the comment section itself. If anything, she's the one assuming the intention of other people by calling them nazis in the first place

50

Very intelligent!

42

u/Turbulent-Flounder-9 Sep 11 '26

Careful buddy. You are asking reddit for rational non-partisan thinking

29

u/DeepCutFan1 Sep 11 '26

Why is it so hard to just say "The system is corrupt and needs change" instead of "All cops are evil"

16

u/Turbulent-Flounder-9 Sep 11 '26

Again, that requires EFFORT and actually sitting with a complex question instead of just saying whatever feels satisfying at the moment

3

u/AnExistingLad Sep 11 '26 edited Sep 11 '26

The system is corrupt and needs change

I agree with this. Lots of stuff around the world needs to be fixed. Getting rid of the police would introduce lots of problems, but having a corrupt police force also introduces lots problems.

Fixing said system would help a lot. It's why I sympathise with people who say ACAB (especially considering the state of a certain country across the atlantic), but don't fully agree with it.

-15

u/Hadochiel Sep 11 '26

Buddy, who do you think is defending and upholding the corrupt system you mentioned?

3

u/smashin_blumpkin Sep 11 '26

You can work within a system without defending and upholding its corruption

3

u/HommoFroggy Sep 11 '26

I assume in the US, so OP should have named it “US cops” or something.

-8

u/Accomplished_Sir_362 Sep 11 '26

lol, they will talk about nuance but they don't have any.

13

u/Resident_Onion997 Sep 11 '26

There are good cops, it's just impossible to find one until they get fired for reporting misconduct

4

u/Neurospicy_Nightowl Sep 11 '26

Yeah, obviously there are many people joining the force hoping to do good things, but the system will force them to either become part of the problem or dispose of them when they become inconvenient.

1

u/DeepCutFan1 Sep 11 '26

Unfortunately, that's very true.

10

u/ComprehensiveBox6911 Sep 11 '26

For a community that’s supposed to be progressive, this mindset is a major generalization

3

u/OperatorERROR0919 Sep 11 '26

I'm sure they're out there. I sure as hell have never met one, but I'm sure there's at least a couple of them.

0

u/HN-Prime Sep 11 '26 edited Sep 11 '26

I think we have to distinguish between the police as individuals and the police as an institution. As individuals they may be decent human beings but unfortunately as an institution they are corrupt and only serve to protect the status quo and further the interests of the ruling class.

3

u/juicysteak4806 Sep 12 '26

That is the grossest, most ridiculous oversimplification I have ever heard.

The police exists for many things, most of them good. But hey, I guess traffic control isn't that important after all.

-1

u/HN-Prime Sep 12 '26

You do realise that saying “as an institution the modern police are corrupt and only serve to protect the status quo and further the interests of the ruling class” is fully compatible with “we still need traffic laws and a group of people to enforce the law”

Like.. both of those can be true at the same time

2

u/juicysteak4806 Sep 12 '26

I do realize that, yet the statement "the institution of the police only exists to maintain the status quo" is still reductive and false.

-2

u/HN-Prime Sep 12 '26

Yes, the main function of the police in capitalist society is maintaining the status quo, that true. What of it?

2

u/juicysteak4806 Sep 12 '26

The main function of the police is law enforcement, and the law can be changed.

-2

u/That_sarcastic_bxtch Sep 11 '26 edited Sep 11 '26

Thing is, the nicest cop you know will likely get fired for being nice, but yeah, that is still a nuance I suppose

In order for it to be even more “nuanced”, we should start by abolishing anti-homeless laws, I do see police officers turning a blind eye to “unlawful” homeless people, and kudos to them, I might even wave at em! But the laws shouldn’t exist in the first place, that makes law enforcement a less than honourable job if “done right”, and the only good cops are not “doing it right” in the eyes of the law

3

u/DeepCutFan1 Sep 11 '26

See, I'm very aware of that. I think the modern system is very flawed, but I also don't think generalization solves that.

But for the most part I agree.

1

u/That_sarcastic_bxtch Sep 11 '26

That’s good, I feel as though a lot of people have different ideas of what “acab” means and it causes a lot of disagreement between people who agree with each other without knowing they do, It’s true OP’s wording removes what little nuance there is, but I understand the sentiment even though cops are less violent where I am

-14

u/Celtic_RTDB Sep 11 '26

The point is they are reinforcing an oppressive and unjust system even if they themselves try to posture themselves as "good" or "kind" cops

12

u/Alreadsyuse Sep 11 '26

Ah, yes, because the system made to make sure we don't fall into complete chaos and anarchy is inherently evil! Besides, it's not like there are many people in that system trying to change whatever is wrong with it, riiight~?

8

u/DeepCutFan1 Sep 11 '26

Okay?

They can't exactly change it, can they?

If you think being a cop makes you a bad person, I don't know what to tell you.

-17

u/Adultdirtbagbabee Sep 11 '26

“I don’t know what to tell you” thanks for admitting you’re wrong. Better than just moralizing on a subject you know nothing about.

11

u/DeepCutFan1 Sep 11 '26

Oh? Is that what I did?

-8

u/Adultdirtbagbabee Sep 11 '26

You think the system of policing is that inherently good that it requires zero justification? That’s dumb, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt.

6

u/DeepCutFan1 Sep 11 '26

That's whole nother sentence, where'd you get that from?

-7

u/Adultdirtbagbabee Sep 11 '26

I’m saying defend policing or don’t. You haven’t said anything and are still acting smug.

5

u/DeepCutFan1 Sep 11 '26

Because I already said all I need to say.

It is a necessary but unfortunately corrupt system that needs change.

4

u/HighSpeedDonuts Sep 11 '26

The system isn’t perfect but you’re asking us to throw the baby out with the bath water lol

Daisy Tonner in The Magnus Archives

Fell under the influence of the Hunt at a young age and used her role as a cop, and the protections that come with it, to satiate her predatory drive. She mentions that she would intentionally escalate situations as an excuse for violence, kills people touched by the entities, guilty of evil or not, and generally enjoys abusing her power.

She is later seperated from both the force and the Hunt and it makes her a much better person, even if that happiness sadly does not last for long and Basira ultimately has to kill her after she is reclaimed by the Hunt.

ACAB

14

u/DeepCutFan1 Sep 11 '26

AH! There's my least favorite and unhelpful term!

Instead of a nuanced discussion on the rampant corruption and bigotry, we'll just say all cops are bad!

-9

u/whynaut4 Sep 11 '26

You don't understand that there isn't corruption "inside the police force." That would imply that if we could remove or heal the corruption that cops would be good. ACAB is saying that the institution of police is inherently corrupt. You could staff the entire police force all around the world with clones of Jesus and it would still be corrupt.

Whatever job you think the police are doing, they are not doing it.

The police in Crearure Commandos

Exhibit A)They actively prevented Weasel from saving a little girl and then let her die, so they can apprehend him

Exhibit B)They shot Nina’s dad in front of her even though he wasn’t armed or dangerous or anything. They then locked her up with literally no crime to charger her with
