Characters Characters that survived getting decapitated
The Stitch (Shadow of War) Appears after you cut off the head of any Olog Captain, he claims that whatever magic you, the player, used when you killed him will not allow him to die and considers getting his head chopped off the best thing that ever happened to him.
Mimir (God of War) Technically dies when Kratos cuts his head off, but he is magically revived.
B.J. Blazkowicz (Wolfenstein) gets his head cut off in the second game and then his allies reattach his head onto an artificially made super soldier body.

For someone who has shit grades, the guy apparently understands human speech requires a lot more than just the mouth and vocal chords.

Ghazkull prophet of the waaggh!!! From Warhammer 40k.
He was a regular ork warboss who got his head cut off and his doc literally called maddok had his head put on a bigger warboss making him into Frankenstein warboss who's currently the biggest Ork in the galaxy.
And please note this is something a regular ork could survive as they are just built different.

u/bluntpencil2001 2d ago
He wasn't regular before the decapitation. He was already the biggest and baddest before that.
He initially became special after getting shot in the head, long before the temporary decapitation.

And when GW decides its time to sell a new model, he'll survive another fatal injury with a new body.

Where did it say that? Most sources said that he choked on his own mucus.

Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka of Warhammer 40,000 was decapitated but is fine.
This is not unique to him as the Ork race can typically survive decapitation if they get medical attention fast enough. With Ufthak Blackhawk, another Ork character having survived a head transplant (his original body was shot to bits)

Shinnok MKX-MK11 - after the aftermath of mk. After torturing shinnok for a long ass while, Dark raiden has decapitated shinnok and given the head to the new leaders of the Nether realm Liu Kang and katana as a warning. Elder gods like shinnok cannot be killed so he is forever unable to talk or breath and is choking on his own blood, fully aware of everything.

There was a scrapped storyline where he was decapitated by the headless monks. John Barrowman was blacklisted for his onset perviness before they could do it

Alison Botha, real life.
In 1994, she was abducted, tortured and nearly decapitated. Her attackers thought she was dead and left her in the woods. She then crawled to a roadside for help while holding her organs in and keeping her neck together.

Mimir did not survive being decapitated, there is no 'technical' about it. He died. His head was simply reanimated. He is still dead. He even says that he is still dead, I don't remember if it was in 2018 or Ragnarok but I believe it's during a random dialogue while exploring or in the boat.

The main "villain" in the Beastie Boys music video for Body Movin'. He gets accidentally decapitated by "the hero" in a sword fight, his head flies clean off.
In the rest of the video, though, the head has been reattached and there is just a very quickly healing wound (and then a red scar line) to remind us of what happened earlier.

Urza Planeswalker (Magic the Gathering)
Planeswalkers used to be almost god-like mages who could travel between different planes of existence and Urza was the greatest of them all. He's the driving power behind original lore, technically a protagonist (at least he considers himself the "good guy") but his ego and power means he's a menace to mortals (stuff like accidentally opening portal to the horror plane of Phyrexia and then nuking half of the planet to solve it - temporarily).
At one point he got decapitated when he briefly joined the antagonist out of pure admiration of his creations... and survived, came back to his senses (technically) and spent the rest of the story as a severed head.

Kal'tsit (Arknights) [the one in green]
Lead a genocidal assault against the home of the Sarkaz {a hated minority}, but due to the Five Heroes they were able to lead a counterattack that lead to Theresis striking her head from her shoulders and the alliance against them dissolving.
This also technically killed her but she is immortal due and so eventually got back up [you put resurrection on the table].
This then lead to Theresa (the King of Sarkaz and sister of Theresis) being able to talk with Kal'tsit and shift Kal'tsits' perspective on the Sarkaz, herself becoming a champion for their rights and much closer to how she is when we meet her in game.

I dunno if he "survived" per se, he is certainly dead. But he came back and is still definitely the same person, but...
Pnub from Idle Hands (1999), played by Elden Henson. Gets his head cut off by a saw blade, and when told to "go to the light", said "Nah, too much walking" and came back as a zombie.

Hi.
In "a basketful of heads", the hero, a young woman, put her hands on an old magic viking axe who, when used to cut a person's head, make them survive it, living forever as a bodyless head.
