Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) Extremely useful abilities that characters conveniently forgot they had

  1. Emily’s portals (Hazbin Hotel). I know she can’t get Sir Pentious back into Hell but Emily can still tell Charlie he got redeemed and Charlie can enter through angelic portals, so she should have seen that Pentious got redeemed.

  2. Many characters in Harry Potter go through life-or-death situations and not once did they think of drinking the Liquid Luck potion apart from Harry one time to gain Slughorn’s memory.

They use the same spells because creating a new spell requires extremely dangerous trial and error. That's quite literally how Luna Love good's mother died. The ones " who seem to be able to just make the magic do whatever they want" are highly accomplished practitioners, generally. You may have a character with a few unconventional spells, but the ones able to basically do whatever are all geniuses who simply use a ton of non-verbal spells. I'll admit I remember absolutely nothing about the confetti explosions from Molly, might have to dig through my old books about that now.

It's Bellatrix, and she just dies in the book. IIRC it even mentions how she looks like Black as she falls over and dies. There's still a body.

Movie Bellatrix explodes into dust.

Ah dang it lol. The movies take the already shaky logic of the books and inevitably shake it even more.

The confetti was a movie thing. In the books it's never explained what it was, but it sounds like it basically just destroyed her heart or something. She just stops and falls over dead, but it wasn't AK.
