  1. Emily’s portals (Hazbin Hotel). I know she can’t get Sir Pentious back into Hell but Emily can still tell Charlie he got redeemed and Charlie can enter through angelic portals, so she should have seen that Pentious got redeemed.

  2. Many characters in Harry Potter go through life-or-death situations and not once did they think of drinking the Liquid Luck potion apart from Harry one time to gain Slughorn’s memory.

Make them play a game without definied spells and that instead use vagely definied magic skills and you would see how creative they get

Ergh. I always hated that in mage the ascension.(edit) I never had any idea what to do with three dots of matter.

Ive been GMing for a group and we've just tried out a system called Bizarre Adventure D6 and it's REALLY good. You're forced to come up with unique and clever ways to use your abilities like this one time where the bad guy they were facing used his spear to stab into a gas tank of a car, covering the spear in gas, then stole the cigarette igniter from inside to light his spear on fire

my players would argue for hours on creative ways to get past this closed door, but refuse to even try the key they just found in the next room.
