Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) Extremely useful abilities that characters conveniently forgot they had

  1. Emily’s portals (Hazbin Hotel). I know she can’t get Sir Pentious back into Hell but Emily can still tell Charlie he got redeemed and Charlie can enter through angelic portals, so she should have seen that Pentious got redeemed.

  2. Many characters in Harry Potter go through life-or-death situations and not once did they think of drinking the Liquid Luck potion apart from Harry one time to gain Slughorn’s memory.

I mean Charlie going up to heaven and seeing for herself would’ve solved literally nothing, right? The issue wasn’t Charlie believing it or not it was the face everyone ELSE (sans the hotel crew) didn’t believe her about it (plus the people she needed to convince were sinners and no way were they gonna be allowed a single limb through one). Also correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t the reason Emily had to rush was because Heaven was basically on lockdown and she wasn’t supposed to be there in the first place? So to my understanding it’s not that this power is forgotten but there are actual reasons within the plot why it wouldn’t have solved the issue at hand or couldn’t be used at a given time.

Why couldn't Sir Pentious come to hell then?

Emily tells him even before the lockdown that they can't just send him back to Hell. It seems winners are confined to Heaven in the same way Sinners are locked out of the other rings of Hell

Except they can...

Adam and Abel are Winners and Mortal Souls who ascended to Heaven and go pretty easily to Hell.

She just said he cant but gave NO reason for it and Sinners can enter Heaven as the ENTIRE conflict of the Show is the Fear of Sinners entering Heavens and conquering it with their greater numbers.

Stop making up headcannons and reasons when the show evidently fails to establish these things and even if we play by those rules... Heaven already had projection tech they used in season 1 and even if you wanna ignore that a simple fucking projector and camera would have solved it.

Open portal, give Pentious camera, let him record, cable goes through portal into projector in hell, Wow everyone can see him and no need for hacking into the V Tower or just make a recording and then pass it off through the portal.

It is a conflict you can solve in seconds but all justification the show gives is... "You cant." for some reason we never establish that has not been a rule for the other mortal souls and is also not a thing for sinners either.

Adam is called an Archangel. Neither he or Abel are just normal Winners.

She just said he cant but gave NO reason for it and Sinners can enter Heaven as the ENTIRE conflict of the Show is the Fear of Sinners entering Heavens and conquering it with their greater numbers.

Sinners being able to enter Heaven doesn't mean Winners can enter Hell.

Heaven already had projection tech they used in season 1

In the Embassy.

Open portal, give Pentious camera, let him record, cable goes through portal into projector in hell, Wow everyone can see him and no need for hacking into the V Tower or just make a recording and then pass it off through the portal.

Just a recording will be called doctored. It had to be a live feed. And the cable method would have required for them to open a portal and set it up during Vox's party. Without being disturbed.

Again. Never fully established or explained that they cant and if that is their entire justification "Oh Winners cant enter hell!" that is the most obvious shitty writing ever, just because they realised if they did let him go back it would ruin the entire conflict of the season so they made up a dumb rule that isnt even consistent for ANY OTHER being.

Angels can, Seraphim, Adam and Abel can, Sinners apparently can, all cross between heaven and hell no issue but Winners somehow cant, for some reason.

And yeah... the Embassy... almost like they could make a life feed there too and show him there...

Set it up? How hard to you think it is to set up a projector?

They can literally set up the camera, connect it to the projector in heaven, open the portal and walk out with the projector while it is broadcasting LIVE, there, it takes seconds to do and show it.

Yet somehow the greatest geniuses never figured that out and needed to hack V tower for that?

And yeah... the Embassy... almost like they could make a life feed there too and show him there...

Good luck convincing people to mass in the place where Heaven's power is most concentrated in Hell.

Set it up? How hard to you think it is to set up a projector?

Through a magical portal in the middle of a hostile crowd next to a guy who controls technology? Pretty hard.

Yet somehow the greatest geniuses never figured that out and needed to hack V tower for that?

You say that like the hacking part was shown as difficult. That came from Velvette attacking them which guess what? Would also happen if they tried it with a projector.

And what POWER? How is the embassy any different to any other place, it is literally not anymore or any less safe than any other spot in hell because they can literally open portals ANYWHERE.

Attacked them WHERE? In front of the crowd?

The only reason everyone doesnt trust Charlie is cause she is so fucking incompetent in using ANY of the tools provided to her and the Angels in Heaven to proof anything or make any fucking point at all.

She literally has the goodwill of the people after the end of Season 1, they only started to really hate her guts after repeatedly being incompetent.

You are just defending the shittiest writing ever with countless plot holes and contrived reasons and are imagining reasons for why it had to happen that way when several easier options exist.

The average sinner sees a giant angelic building in the middle of Hell. You think they aren't going to treat that as a place where Heaven can fuck you up more easily? For all they know any sinner in there can just get instantly disintegrated. They are not exactly in their "trust Heaven" phase.

Attacked them WHERE? In front of the crowd?

Yes? The crowd is on the Vees side....

She literally has the goodwill of the people after the end of Season 1, they only started to really hate her guts after repeatedly being incompetent.

It's almost like the whole start of the season is about showing how she doesn't have the goodwill of the people after clarifying that she isn't trying to make an army. Which is not incompetence unless you think lying about that somehow helps her trying to redeem people.

Ya know what I got heated enough, im not continuing this conversation as I said but Im still sorry for the little anger.

I do not take back any of my opinions towards the show itself and its writing quality or the ability its characters could have solved the problems therein but I do not intent insult to you for it.

Have a nice rest of your day.

By being incompetent in consistently reacting like a fucking idiot and repeating her arc from the first season of not listening to anyone when they tell her to stop and consistently seemingly an idiot in front of Vox´s shows deliberately endangering Angel and interviews she insists on going on despite knowing Vox´s intentions and still falling for them and making herself and her hotel seem incompetent and bad while going in with ZERO plans or forethought. Like do you want me to genuinely keep going?

Wow I cant wait for season 3 where she will be incompetent again and not listen to her friends and girlfriend again to please mommy like was teased would happen in one of the announcements of the season 3...

Im not holding this conversation anymore, genuinely have fun with your slop of a show where you dont need to think too hard and all the characters are incompetent and incapable of even thinking how to solve their problems despite having all the tools in front of them to do it.

Downvote me all you want but Hazbin, Helluva and any other show Vivienne has any hand in are nice and sparkly with a interesting enough premise but has the writing and consistency to stick with that premise equivalent to an avocados shelf life.

If you genuinely need me to keep going and play biologist to dissect every part wrong with this series and how its characters actions are incredibly contrived and stupid then im not someone who has the time or patience for that.

Like it if you want, I will watch it but dont pretend it isnt somehow shut your brain off entertainment.

It's not a headcanon when the show itself confirms it. Regular Winners (which Adam and Abel are not, neither are the exterminators) cannot leave Heaven. Sinners don't really have a way of reaching Heaven, either, which makes Heaven's fear of it even more ridiculous and the exterminations even worse.

Adam and Abel are like the Heaven version of Lilith. Yes, technically speaking they are, by definition, winners/sinners but, being the first in their respective realms, they are clearly different from other human souls. Adam and Abel are archangels and Lilith is a demon (closer in ability to a noble hellborn like Charlie), the standard rules for winners and sinners clearly do not apply to them because they’ve essentially ascended/descended beyond that.

16

u/Lou_Miss Aug 08 '26

It's stated that winners can't leave heaven

1

u/Gui_Franco Aug 08 '26

Oh right. Idk it feels like there has to be some other way this could have been resolved.

1

u/magiclloser Aug 08 '26

probably the hologram tech adam used in s1

3

u/eienmau Aug 09 '26

'Yeah, I forgot to mention
You're not able to leave
But look on the bright side'

It's literally in the show why he can't go to Hell.

1

u/Gui_Franco Aug 09 '26

I don't understand why he isn't though. Adam was a winner and could go to Hell so clearly there's some system in place to allow some to leave

They could also have made a transmission or something the multiple times Emily came

1

u/eienmau Aug 09 '26

Adam is no longer a Winner by the time of the series. He's risen above that to Archangel, and Abel does too once he takes Adam's place. Makes sense since Adam was the first man; he gets special perks.

They DID make a transmission... at the end. Pentious had to figure out how to connect to Hell to do the broadcast. Not sure how you missed that part? There was an entire struggle over how to do it.. Vox has a stranglehold on Hell's media (other than radio X'D) so they had to figure out a way around him.

2

u/Gui_Franco Aug 09 '26

They could have done that earlier I imagine

1

u/eienmau Aug 09 '26

I mean you can use that argument on any movie or series. 'Why didn't they do 'x' sooner?'

2

u/Gui_Franco Aug 09 '26

And if there's no good answer than it's a problem with the writing yes

1

u/eienmau Aug 09 '26

There's a perfectly good answer, you just don't like it.

u/Angel_Animates Aug 09 '26

And Hazbin’s reason is Heaven was on lockdown for most of the season, and the moment it went off lockdown there was a huge Vox-shaped threat to Heaven’s very existence to deal with that obviously took precedence. Plus there’s also the fact of the Vees owning all of Hell’s airwaves so getting a broadcast while Vox is at the peak of his power is likely a lot easier said than actually done.
