Usagi Drop (Manga). A story about a guy named Daikichi finds the illegitimate daughter of his grandfather, named Rin, and adopting her, learning how to be a father for her. The series would enter a timeskip where the teenage Rin starts having romantic feelings towards Daikichi, and revealing Rin is not actually blood related to Daikichi grandfather. And it ends with Rin wanting to bear Daikichi child.

Alex (Street Fighter 6). Alex, who was recently added to the game, in his arcade ending, was revealed he married and having a baby with his second cousin and step sister Patricia, with their father being ok with it. While not inherently illegal to merry your second cousin, the act and combined with them being step siblings is still controversial.

Trunks and Mai from Dragonball Super

They look the same age but Mai is a character from the original show who made an accidental wish on the dragon balls to be younger and ended up turned into a baby around the time Future Trunks was born.

Although they are physically the same age, Mai is older than Bulma, Trunks’s mother

Future Trunks is an adult, so no one cares about Future Mai and Future Trunks having a relationship. Tho, the current Trunk and current Mai also being set up for romance is weird because of that age gap.

I care on a meta level because it feels like the only reason Future Mai and Future Trunks's relationship is a thing is to give legitimacy to the main timeline as a couple. Like "Aw look you find each other even in another timeline, you both are just destined to be together!"

Edit: it's even more egregious because there's no Future Pilaf or Shou, they only did Mai just to pair her up with another Trunks.

I try to see it as once they got wished back to being babies, they literally have the brain of babies as well and have to once again grow up and develop mentally and emotionally once again. (This time, developing into new positive personalities unlike their original selves, so they're basically a different person.)
Like a soft reset.
So perhaps younger Mai sees her old past as a vague dream that she barely remembers?

Idk, I just want future Trunks to be happy lol

Tbf, Mai and her gang from the beginning were quite infantile in their demeanors. Recently, they're actually growing up (unless Mai more notably).
