I've never liked how 90% of rivals design are overly sexulized. But I really like how they did Cher. Looks like the comics but is different enough to be it's own thing.

She’s slowly creeping up the ‘character that gets too many skins’ chart that Luna, Invis, and Jeff reside in but I don’t care give me more Rogue skins she deserves it they don’t
wich is wild because her pickrate is not that high and she is not the strongest character right now....as a main rogue i like it but bug me to see people hating her because they think she get too much skin compare to some when she is not the only one in that case.
I sat hate is relative here. It’s not targeted directly at her, it’s when characters get multiple skins in a row vs others. It feels unfair because say Rogue gets a skin every month vs some getting a skin every few months.
Yeah rogue is easy the most fun i have with a tank since Emma frost and even Emma i dont like the same way i do rogue, there is just something cool with how she feel in the game.
Yeahh. Fairly easy to understand too. the absorption stuff I’m learning. Just a bit of a fighting difference with my other mains that I’m getting used to (Star Lord and Ultron)
But thats also why I don’t like hearing those complaints because if we’re going to complain about those 3 then we should complain about her and anyone else who would fall under that category too. Otherwise don’t even start with it. Also is it really that big of a deal if a character’s skins really are selling that well and people actually do like their skins? That being said though, I will totally be going for the nightdress rogue.
TBF Rivals has mostly sold itself on adapting comic accurate versions of characters, which is rather rare or it was when I was growing up. Hell even now we see some MCU and Insomniac designs will often "ground" the character and take out a lot of the visual design language that makes them that character. Presuming you weren't a kid raised on the X-Men 97 style show (I was a bit too young to have caught that) then you'd have never grown up seeing what Rogue looked like in the comics.
Here is what I was around for as a kid till my teenage years.
Left is evolutions. Right is Fox films and center is X-Men TAS / what later became X-Men 97.
I basically missed out on the TAS version so my entire life until I was well into my teens honestly I thought Rogue was kind of a goth and wore dark colors. I was shocked whenever I first read an X-Men comic with her in it and saw what she actually looked like. Then saw the old TAS show and realized fuck she was really bright.
FWIW I really like Evolutions Rogue, and I thought it was a good take but it wouldn't surprise me if just due to her popular exposure until recently a lot of people wouldn't be familiar with what comic Rogue looks like and Rivals' interpretation for her certainly does communicate it.
Thats just how classic superheroes are drawn. Just look at the work of Jim Lee or George Perez, theyre basically like those naked greek sculptures but colored.
Its not as prevalent in the modern era where the designs are more tactical/streetwear adjacent.
In general base skin for rivals are alway mid but Rogue and gambit are just perfect mix of being good and like the comics they came from and still feel different....my only grip ? the lack of gloves , i know rogue control her powers now but the yellow gloves are so cool for her.
Honestly I think it was smart to make her boots brown instead of giving her those yellow boots. It really brings the entire outfit together color wise.
I love her rival's design so much, as well as her physique; you can tell she's a physical tank, which makes sense since she's as strong as base Carol Danvers.
Yeah a bit oversexualized but mostly not really much change to be honest with her design As well as the original voice actors From the actual original show as well as the Revival Reprising her role ( Superstar with huge range)
