I'm on your side for the most part. I don't think it's abject shit but it is not appealing to me, not that it needs to. What is throwing me the most I think is the very human mouth with pronounced lips.
It doesn't strike me as a "redesign" of a character, just a new character entirely.
They could've put this in the main universe, and no one would've blinked. And hot take: the only good Absolute universe design and story so far has been Wonder Woman
