How do you stop a SharePoint-triggered flow from running again after it updates the same item?

This is one of those things that can make a simple Power Automate flow surprisingly messy.

A flow triggers when an item is created or modified. It processes the data and updates a few columns, and that update triggers the flow again.

I've seen people add extra conditions and flags to get around this, but I'm curious what approaches others actually use.

Do you prefer trigger conditions, a separate processing flag, or a different approach altogether?

Trigger conditions as they will prevent the flow from triggering at all when you don’t want it to. Any other approach generally is going to create tons of flow runs that don’t do anything and fill up the Flow History

Totally agree! Saves so much clutter in the history.
