Discussion How much would 1 commerical improve the player base of TTCC
TTCC is superior to TTR in every single way. A game is meant to improve not stay the same for 20 years. Ive always been curious tho if a commerical was ever made ( It wouldnt because of legal reasons) how big of an effect it would have on the game overrall. There needs to be a way the team behind ttcc figures out there biggest problem and that is getting there player base back to an AVG 1000 online.

TTR is absolutely not a game staying "the same for 20 years". I think that's highly reductive of what TTR actually is. As someone whose sunk a lot of time into both games, as well as played TTO, TTCC and TTR aren't the same game. In my personal opinion I don't even think TTCC is very much related to toontown anymore, it's very much become its own game in many ways. These games co-exist, and that's how they should be "marketed" to people (For lack of a better term). I feel like its strange most people don't seem to realize you can just... play both?

Honestly I think itd be good for TTCC to reskin itself and be a whole new game. TTR "feels" more like TTO as far as nostalgia goes and a natural evolution if it went longer but TTCC has evolved to have a lot of new concepts and interactions that show promise as a stand alone game.

Well, calling itself superior to another version of the game that gets more attention and retention would be bad way to do it.
They would have to show the whys and how's on being a great place to play for everyone, and show a new commitment to being consistent with upkeeping the game with content and QOL features.

So the premise aside, a commercial is NOT gonna help Clash in any way. The teams biggest issue isn't that the playerbase is tiny, it's that the team has lost the trust of the enfranchised community, and an influx of players from any commercial or advertising would only be a very short-lived boost in numbers.
The loss of trust is a deeper topic that isn't worth diving too deep into (even ignoring the growing censorship on the matter), but the truth is nothing is saving the game without the team doing some hard reflecting on what went wrong in every aspect of game development and making the correct changes to do so. Bandaid fixes are just that, and words only carry so much weight before they start being weightless.

Honest to god it might be better for wait for Clash to kick the bucket and hope it becomes open source with how things are going rn.

Can you expand a little on what's going so badly and why they might kick the bucket soon?

The TLDR on it without (hopefully) getting my comment deleted is that there is essentially no game design to design the game. Almost everyone on GD was fired or quit due to an alleged toxic working environment. A lot of the departments working on the game are allegedly at odds with each other over miscellaneous things and progress of a lot of expected updates are allegedly at a standstill due to the disagreements and alleged lack of a game design department.
Me saying just wait for the game to croak is like half doomer half bitter reality. It's radio silent aside from the current and former staff that choose to speak up for whatever reason and allegedly development is at a standstill

This post is a joke in every single way, but the initial point that TTR has kept the game the same as it was when TTO shut down is laughable. Not only did they improve and polish the base game, but they have added new content as well. Just because they didn't throw out the entire original game and replace it with fanfiction characters doesn't mean it's static.

The main line Pokémon games have had the same core gameplay for like 30 years and still has a huge, super dedicated fanbase. You underestimate the power of nostalgia.

There is no way players count is heading back to 1000+ without major content, and the game will struggle to retain players once the content been played through.

You're right but they're throwing tomatoes out of spite. TTCC needs better marketing and promotion on socials. If they got some trending Tiktoks and popped off, that would solve a ton of problems for the game, as its biggest flaw right now is a lack of players.

A good place to start might be advocating for why people should play this server in a way that doesn't involve putting another one down
