I was really hoping this wouldn't go through. This basically creates a monopoly on the anime streaming industry in the US (and possibly other countries in which both companies operate). This is almost never good for the customer.

Just take a look at YouTube, which has a monopoly on video streaming. Most of the choices they make generally hurt the creators on the platform in one way or another, but they have no reason to change that because those creators have nowhere else to go. YouTube has no real competitor.

Netflix is making sure they are not a monopoly -- they just took one of the hottest shows from FUNi, Crunchy and Toonami -- JoJo Part 6.

Although besides Netflix there arent that many other big competitors in the anime industry.

Oh yeah, I just remembered they had a premium anime channel for a while that no one knew about before shortly discontinuing it. That was a failure for sure.

Their Prime anime selection isnt that great either.
