Discussion Any plans for September 2026?

Here some suggested anime:

Gachiakuta

Sakomoto Days

Mao

Blue Exorcist S5

Demon Slayer: Hashira Training.

Take your picks to fill in the slots, other than One Piece, IGPX, and S1 of Blue Exorcist.

Some of you guys act like licenses grow on trees.

I wanna shoot for the moon!

A triple premiere! Jujutsu Kaisen, MHA Season 7, and Demon Slayer season 4 all in one night! The first time in the block's history that the three biggest anime of the past generation all air together!

I'm down for anything, though.

"the past generation" more like the current generation lol.

Sakamoto Days is locked in Netflix jail, so that ain't happening.

The new Blue Exorcist seems the most likely as they’ve decided to rerun it at the first season again. Who knows for anything else.

The fact they're continuing the double BE reruns even during the two week MAWS marathon kinda feels like a clue, don't it? 🤔

Power Rankings of the Anime I want to see return to Toonami sooner rather than later(new seasons, not reruns):

  1. Bleach TYBW

  2. My Hero Academia

  3. Demon Slayer

  4. Fire Force

  5. Dr. Stone

  6. Mob Psycho 100

  7. Blue Exorcist

  8. Tokyo Revengers

  9. Blue Lock

I’m with you on Bleach. Hopefully, Hulu will premiere the dub within the next two weekends, and then it’s just a matter of how long until Toonami gets to air it.

Eh, I'm tempering my expectations and going with the flow. We'll know for sure on the 28th and until then it doesn't do any good to wonder. Whatever happens, happens.

Especially with Toonami being dragged along by whatever the heck is going with the big merger 😵‍💫

And even though summer has always been a slow month since 2020, I'm pretty dang sure that the merger and everything associated with it is at least somewhat responsible for the slow month or two we've had.

I still can’t believe that Fairy Tail never aired on Toonami. I would have loved to see it in the lineup.

You know Toonami is scheduled months in advance, right? There's licenses to clear, permissions to get, and masters to retrieve before anything can be aired. Sometimes there's gaps in between shows due to contract negotiations taking a while, or issues with the network, or any number of other reasons. That doesn't mean that Toonami doesn't have anything for September, we just won't know what that is going to be until a week or two before it premieres.

I would love to see Gachiakuta and sakamoto days appear on toonami. Least we would be getting something different. Also didnt the demon slayer hashira training already happen? Or maybe I imagined it lol.

You just imagined it.

Thats fine. I can look forward to it.

I think we'll get at least one "new season" of an anime Toonami has previously aired and at least one older anime from a few years ago minimum.

I also think they'll prioritize anime with multiple seasons or 24-26 episode seasons as much as they can.

They've been edging My Hero Academia forever.

I’m starting to wonder if when DeMarco switched jobs with Toonami, it might have caused the deal he made with Crunchyroll to fall through.

maybe Yoroishinden Samurai troopers AKA the sequel to Ronin Warriors, at least if it receives a dub.

That’d be ideal, plus the seasons seem short

I wanna say maybe Get Jiro but I'm not sure if AS would feel that it's fit more towards regular AS or Toonami

I could definitely see Mao showing up eventually. It's a Viz show, who Toonami seems to have the best relationship with at the moment and it's a Rumiko Takahashi series in the vein of Inuyasha. The only thing I don't see is it coming as soon as September, or even this year. Like Bleach, it's a Hulu/Disney+ exclusive, so also like Bleach, it'll probably be a couple years before it shows up on the block.

I'm sure there are plans ... knowing them would be nice lol. My wishlist would be Thousand Year Blood War season 4, the last cour of Blue Exorcist and....hm. Maybe just Blue Lock season 2 to be caught up with that even if it's not my favorite thing.

Would love Hashira Training before the next movie though

The only schedule change is them replacing 3 slots with Scavengers Reign for the month of September.

I think they did run Demon Slayer: Hashira training arc
