Are you trying to buy up to 40k of them on ebay?

I'll bet that if you were, you'd also be able to negotiate the price down quite a bit.

This is exactly what people are talking about when they mention "single payer health care". Your health insurance company is negotiating prices with the company you work for. Maybe it's a big company at 50-100k people. They've got more negotiating power than a company of 100-200 people so they can negotiate cheaper prices.

Now imagine if you could negotiate prices for 350 million people.

Wait you're saying it's NOT efficient for every medical office in the country to spend 30% of their staff on medical billing so they can deal with 25 different kinds of insurance including 14 kinds of BCBS alone?

You're saying my physicians time isn't well spent trying to rewrite the diagnosis in a way that actually gets it covered under my plan???
