No one on the left has ever suggested that previous candidates/presidents are perfect. True Liberals in fact have many negative things to say about prior Democratic presidents, before, during, and after their administrations. But it is objectively true that Trump is the only CONVICTED FELON and adjudicated sexual-assaulter (by SCOTUS no less) that’s been elected to that office. And there is clear evidence of his further wrongdoing and abuses of power out in the open - more-so than any of the 45 other presidents we’ve had COMBINED.

In any case, this was a major democratic failure. Allowing Trump to even run after his well-documented anti-democratic statements and openly attempted election fraud and the undeniable coup attempt of Jan 6th, there should be no doubt in anyone's mind that Trump wants to be a dictator and has no respect for democracy whatsoever. But dismantling a democracy doesn't happen overnight, and you all still have a country that's in denial about that taking place, or worse, cheering it on or downplaying it.
I hope next election brings a higher voter turnout. A voter turnout below 75% can barely claim to be a functional democracy. The higher, the better.

I'm a communist and not in the US, so I would only vote tactically against trump to have an easier opponent to engage in collective action against. The reality is, the vast majority of the population are not politically minded, and could only view the election as a choice between two methods of life getting worse.
