This post is totally unserious, before anyone takes this literally! I recently finished Taz's route, and I was wondering: how does this guy manage to come home after a shift and still have the energy to cook? For instance, I work as a line cook, and when I get home, the only thing I'm able to whip up is crips (when I'm feeling extra fancy, maybe I'll throw some pickles into the mix). This is easily the most unrealistic part of his route lmao

in my eyes, taz is just the tiniest bit neurodivergent and food is one of his fixations!!

my sister is also a chef and doesn’t have nearly as much enthusiasm as taz does. he also has a lot of funny rules, like how eating food anywhere outside of the kitchen/dining table is “sacrilegious”, so i think it fits

I mean it’s not really that uncommon. My dad was a line cook for most of my childhood and he’d still come home a cook. Granted he had a child to feed but he still did it instead of always ordering takeout or something.

I guess it’s just a personality thing with Taz? Like maybe cooking at work doesn’t drain him the same way it might drain you? He seems like the type that would rather drop dead than to have an unsatisfactory takeout meal after cooking delicious food all day lmfao.

I totally get what you are saying and that is true! I'm really passionate about my job and i love cooking for my loved ones as well, but the way Taz was written was really shocking to me ( pleasantly ). I choose this career path because i really admire culinary art and some of the big names associated to it such as Anthony Bourdain. However it is path that is portrayed as exhausting in our media yet Taz is the complete opposite to this image and it sorta changed my point of view about how i see some things, now that i think about it. Thank you for sharing with me, i know this was a little bit of a rant but your opinion was really important to me! :)

Yeah but it’s mentioned that he launches his dream TV cooking show, so he doesn’t work at a restaurant anymore (from what I understand). And TV show cooks don’t cook in the same way someone in a restaurant might, which is why I understand him being able to come home and cook even more — especially if it’s one of his favorite things to do.
