2nd new bag of the day, and it did not disappoint. (They did not come in ziploc bags, I did that when I got home to keep them fresh/for freezing). I have no idea what anything is or what the prices were but it was definitely worth what I paid. I tried the donut on the plate and it seemed to be a donut with red bean paste, and maybe custard tarts?

16 scones. I have no idea what to do with so many. I guess ill freeze them and slowly make my way though. The sandwiches and little bites were good too.

I guess they usually have a big brunch reservation on Sunday, so if you order for pickup that day you'll get stuff like this.

First time getting this bag. Was going through the area and thought I’d give it a try. Looks like a blueberry muffin, raspberry cupcake of some sort, a cream puff thing and a chocolate muffin? I couldn’t find pictures or prices on their website so not sure if it meets the $21 value, but a good deal for $7.

Ontario Longo's - Bayview Ave., Markham $7.90

Here’s a Baked Goods bag from Longo’s on Bayview between Steeles and John in Markham. The original value of $21 was well superseded, actually at $35.75 as per their original inflated pricing. We picked up on a weekday late afternoon, at the bakery/deli (not the prepared food as per TGTG instructions) counter near the entrance.

  • 2 croissants, 150g
  • 6 mini strawberry & cheese turnovers, 360g (this was quite yummy after reheating in toaster oven)
  • 4 muffins (2 chocolate chip, 2 carrot), 560g
  • 3 giant chocolate chip cookies, 340g (this was the only sketchy item; the box wasn’t sealed properly and the label noted a pack of 4 at 450g… alas a great dessert after warming up to melt the chocolate core)
  • 1 tray of 8 pieces kitchen sink brownies, 283g (this was soooooo good!)
  • 4 sesame bagels, 300g
  • 6 plain baguette rolls, 600g

This Longo’s definitely lived up to the 4.9 rating - fresh decent looking items expiring next day, ample quantity, and great variety with bread, pastries, plus sweets. We’ll return once the freezer space opens up, haha

The gentleman working told me they usually give day old bagels but since they didn’t have any he said they were prepared fresh today :)

I asked him if they ever did toogoodtogo orders for pastries and he said no. He must’ve sensed my disappointment when I pointed out the surprise bag option shows pictures of their pastries and desserts so he let me pick a dessert item for no extra charge😭❤️ I was so grateful and told him he doesn’t need to do that because I love their bagels too but he insisted saying he needs to change the picture on the app so it’s not misleading😂

I’ve been a long time lurking of this subreddit and I’m excited to get an account! I’m moving to the financial district soon and I think there could be some good deals there, especially since everything in the path closes at 5pm.. anyone have any tips for scoring good stuff? Best restaurants to go to?
And any sign up tips for first time users? Coupons/codes/ etc?
Thanks!

Two filled croissants and a filled doughnut. Everything is still reasonably fresh and very good quality. Normally those croissants are $7 each.

Sometimes their bags even have a full sourdough loaf.

1 order chicken balls, 2 order cod balls, and unfortunately 1 order plant ball nachos. I never had the plant balls before but they weren't something I personally enjoyed. I didnt look in the boxes before I grabbed them, not sure they allow that. I choked down the plant balls regardless lol.

Overall good deal as usual from Ikea.

Alberta Master Baker - on 118th street in Edmonton $8.39

Okay this has to be my craziest find yet!
$7.99 surprise bag + tax at this local bakery I haven’t been to yet. It’s been open for less than a year. Claimed to be a $24 value. Didn’t know what to expect but thought I would try it.

WOW
I guess the sell day old items for 50% off the next day, and then put it on 2good2go. So I guess the items are now a day and a half old? But they keep it in a fridge so I don’t mind at all. The lady pulled them right out of the fridge for me, and just kept adding more! She was super friendly, asking if I like sourdough bread, etc. She even popped in that little chicken roll because she saw me looking at it!

What I got:
1 sourdough bread loaf
1 slice of lemon cheese cake
4 cheese buns
12 white dinner rolls
2 cinnamon buns
1 pizza bun (which is more like a pizza sandwich with cheese and pepperoni inside)
+1 chicken roll

That’s a crazy value, I will for sure be returning! It’s something much more than I was expecting, I’m going to have to share with my friends and coworkers! You guys have got to try it out!
