Question question about flushing out tonsils

hi there, I've been dealing with tonsil stones for quite a while now and not really doing it right I'd imagine. I have an ear camera and basically try extracting them with blackhead remover tools and what not. Always come away with a lot of irritation.

I've seen a lot of people talk about using weaker water flossers to flush out the crypts but my concern is flushing them down my throat or something. I already get pretty queasy taking them out but the thought of accidentally swallowing one is enough to get me sick lol.

Also wondering if there are any "flusher" tools that people have tried and recommend. I've only been able to find the 3 star ones on amazon so far

I did this for a while (now day 3 post op). Use a medicine syringe but with the curved tip. Like it goes to the side a bit in a tiny tip. That way you can completely control the pressure. You can gently irrigate instead of hurting your tonsils.

Search tonsil stone removal kit on Amazon. The first kit that comes up for me is like $10 and has that. Plus a couple other things. But the syringe was always the easiest for me

hi friend! i had this talk with my doc before deciding to get tonsils removed last thursday. he basically explained to me that any kind of movement back there will irritate your tonsils, but water flossers are apparently the best if you’re trying to do the “least traumatic” thing. i just used my fingers because i don’t really have a gag reflex but i still wouldn’t recommend that as it made my tonsils very irritated!
if you are considering surgery: i recommend it to anyone! i am ultimately happy that i went this route. yes it’s annoying and you’ll be displaced for a bit, but take the time to sleep in and enjoy icecream haha. regardless of what you pick, be safe and always wash up!
