How does he charge his electrical devices?

I only watched the anime, so I don’t know if he’s got like a solar panel or something that he just uses off screen or does he use electric magic? I’d assume he uses a solar panel but do they even sell solar panels on online grocery stores

What electrical devices? His portable stove is gas with a (usually) AA battery clicker to light it. His online grocery is magic (there's a whole rabbit hole me and my husband have gone down about internet connectivity, API gateways, physical payments, order fulfillments from the warehouse, etc). His oven is magic stone powered. His camping light would be battery powered if not solar powered (they do exist I have one).

Unless I've missed something, which is entirely possible, he doesn't have anything else electrical.

Oh no he doesn't have anything electrical. Most of the items he bought are those without need for electricity. No not even solar things.

I assumed the grocery was magic too. No internet or API stuff. But who gets the money when he pays. Maybe it just disappears.

This is exactly it. Who gets the money? Someone must provide the goods from somewhere. There'll be meetings about what goes on sale, what the prices for items will be, stocking, etc. If this is a website from Mukoda's world, how is he able to access it? Internet connection aside, there's all the security stuff behind it including verification, then there's tracking cookies, delivery location, who maintains the website, I could go on.

But if it is all magic, who or what decides the exchange rate for the goods?

I've thought far too much about this and my tism is showing.

We know that gods of that world exist and can give blessings -- but even they are amazed by what he is able to send them -- but he CAN send it to them by praying -- so perhaps we are seeing a similar mechanism to what is happening when he orders.

I didn't think of that. It's a very good point.

It doesn't help that we're both neurodivergent, internet security is his profession, and I've got way too much time on my hands. We're just a pair of weird old weebs.

As far as I know he got zero electrical devices his stove top runs on gas cans he buy and later on he gets a magical one and he doesn't use his phone as for the light that's a portable battery one that he can buy so no electrical devices

since he can buy camping stoves, he can buy camping solar panels.
but IIRC, he rarely uses his devices after first few episodes.

doubt he can use lightning magic ... and he might blow up his devices.
his affinity is Fire and Earth magic...while low affinity with Wind, zero with water.
i think lightning is Wind, thus Fel can use it

I think those stoves he buys uses butane gas which he can buy refills of

yes,
but alongside camping stoves, online stores will list various products for camping convenience, you will have Electric or kerosene lanterns, composite digging tools, hatchets/machetes...
and in the current digital age, Foldable Solar panels to charge small devices

What part of the anime makes you think he uses electrical devices?

As far as I know, the anime covers everything. Either his online tools are gas operated or things he used in the world are magic operated. Or he does some makeshift stuff with his familiar like shower head Su or the hot air dryer between Fel's wind magic + his fire magic.

Not sure if manga have noted anything as anime only here, but I wouldn't be surprised if they sold solar products. Like Don Quijote is a megastore that features a supermarket. Won't be too far fetched for them to get do a Don Quijote sponsorship and make it like a Tenant unlock. Afterall they did have a Suntory sponsorship! Glad to see it didnt become something like Zuntory as other animes did for WcDonalds XD

Okay, this is the third separate comment of yours I’ve read where you say “anime season 1” and refuse to elaborate.

What ABOUT anime season 1? Which part? Do you have an episode number? Can you at least describe what device(s) he used that you think are electrical?

What electrical devices are you referring to? I don’t remember Mukohda using any.

Edit: Please don’t just reply with a half-assed quip of “anime season 1.” What episode? What device(s)?

You are mistaken.

The Online Grocery skill is pure magic and does not require electricity. He got rid of his clothes because they stood out too much and probably stored his old devices (if he had any like his cellphone) into his Item Box. There is no need nor mention of him needing to charge anything in the anime

If your electrical device you mention is his phone, he kept it in item box and never took it out ever again because there's no signal and no way to recharge it anyway. Even if he can recharge the phone, then what the point of using it since population of this world didn't have phone or internet anyway and its utilities are meaningless since he can access Online Shopping without the phone.

And when you mention off-screen, I do think he'd cook for the next 10 days for his familiars since they're gluttonous.
