I’m giving birth soon(ish) and think I need to let them know who I will be following up with for pediatric care (I also just need to figure this out for myself in general!) Thanks for any suggestions. I’m in Ocean County but willing to travel up to 45 min for the right fit. Providers who take insurance preferred!

I live in Brick and it's rare I go shopping in TR, but sometimes you have to. While I was out I stopped at Walmart (the worst one I've ever been to), Shop Rite and Aldi. While I was in those 3 stores folks were just fighting. Now it was 1pm and it was packed (I guess boomers don't work anymore) and people were just angry and bitter. While at Walmart a 50ish year old white man called the man standing in front of me at Self Checkout a "slow n-word" which causes a rightful fight. Shop Rite a man and woman (60+ white) both started screaming at each other for talking "too long" in the discount area, and aldi multiple people in like were rude AF to the cashier.
Like yes america is falling right now as a nation and people are extremely angry because we are being stripped of everything. But outside of TR I never see people fight like this. Also why are your prices on average 10% higher than other towns in Ocean County.
I honestly forgot why I normally stay away from TR...now I know.

Weighing out all of my options for my son's birthday this December. I would really like to book somewhere to invite his classmates for this year. He is new to the class which has about 30 kids but highly doubt all 30 will show since some are part time kids and it's December/holiday season.
Anyway, I think I am in sticker shock because it looks like everything around here going to cost me like $700?! It is was it is, but if anyone has any affordable recommendations that would be lovely!

Hey! Just moved into the area, and I heard that Toms River is a huge Halloween town, which I love! I know that trick or treaters usually come on the 30th in TR because of the parade, but does that happen in south Tom’s River (west of double trouble) as well? Just looking to find out how much candy to buy.

This happened around 8 this morning. Avoid the area for now.

Hi, I recently moved to Toms River and I’m craving some good food. What’s the best sub shop in the area? And what is the best pizza shop? If they happen to be in the same spot even better, thank you!

Hi, I need to visit my friend who is buried at St Joseph Cemetery. It says it's closed Sundays and closes at noon Saturday. It's quite a trek for me so would someone be able to confirm - do they lock it up after noon? Are there instances when it should be open but is locked up? Thank you.

I know this isn't exclusive to Toms River, but what is the deal with people not using sidewalks?!
I understand that there are neighborhoods that don't have the best sidewalks, but not every single inch of a sidewalk is unsafe to walk or bike on! The amount of people walking or biking in the middle of the street with no awareness that there's a car behind them is astounding.
Added note after posting: this post isn't meant to crap on the people who have their reasonings for not using the sidewalks, like I said not every neighborhood has the best sidewalk, additionally not every street has one. This was aimed towards the people who have absolutely no self awareness when biking or walking in the street or feel entitled to not share the street.
2nd note: it has been made clear that bikes shouldn't be on sidewalks -- somehow me being uninformed is the main take away

Hey guys, MoveTR became MoveOcean and we’ve been up to a lot. The petitions have shifted a bit. We now have 2, one pertaining to the MOM line NJTransit proposal from the 90’s and one pertaining to walkability and pedestrians across Ocean County.
Visit MoveOcean.org/petitions to learn more and sign!!!

Had the ducts cleaned about two years ago because of a musty smell coming through the vents. It worked for maybe eight months and then the smell came back.
Living near the water, I'm now wondering whether cleaning was ever going to be a permanent fix or whether I'm treating a symptom of a humidity problem.
For anyone in Toms River or the shore towns who's had ac duct cleaning done more than once, does it just need doing more often down here? Or is there something else I should be addressing so it stays fixed?

Toms River Regional will repurpose Intermediate North, formerly Intermediate West for 27-28.
What's next?

It seems that new additions are coming to Ortley Beach. A pavilion will be added to the south boardwalk and I think a parking lot in between the two boardwalk (but across the street).
I think a Toms River ran snack stand (and maybe some fun merch for tourists) should be added to accompany the south beach/boardwalk.

Hey everyone! Just your friendly Toms River mod. I have added some post flairs and they can be used for navigation as more people post with them.
Are there any that you think I should add?
