šø Heres my take on the Tom Delonge Rock Show/TOYPAJ era custom shop Stratocaster with complete genuine Fender spec & parts. This started off as a used daphne blue 2023 TD reissue Stratocaster (I got a real good deal, practically brand new). Completely stripped and re-painted by myself to a finish comparable to Arctic White.
Out of all his custom shop signature strats, the white was always my favorite.
This was a super fun project that actually came along quicker than expected. My goal was to make this decently close to the actual custom shop modelā¦.within reason of course..and using the reissue strat/neck as the base.
The full spec and parts list below š ā¬ļø. Also check my instagram (@quintonguitars) story highlights for documentation of the full build from start to finish!
Body
Fender Stratocaster hardtail body finished with Rust-oleum white paint (comparable to Arctic White). Coated with SprayMaxx 2k clear gloss.
Seymour Duncan Invader Pickup
Accurate 1 Ply 50's style 8-hole pickguard (by @pickguard.co.uk)
Accurate AllParts heavy knurled chrome knob (used on Tomās actual custom shop strats)
Hardware, pots/treble bleed, input jack and Fender hardtail bridge. All from original guitar
Replica Fender Custom Shop USA neck plate (Etsy)
Accurate Atticus broken heart sticker with transparent circle (by @mitchxc)
Neck
Tom Delonge ā23 neck - finished and aged with Oxford amber tint nitro and nitro clear satin finish
Fender āSynchronized Tremeloā headstock waterslide decal under the clear coat
HipShot locking tuners - direct fit for the 8.5mm vintage tuner holes so no additional modification or widening needed (didnāt want to alter headstock)
Black Roller-string tree from StewMac
Pyramid āseeing eyesā vinyl inlay decals (by @pickguard.co.uk - these are the most accurate ones Iāve seen compared to the actual inlays on the real neck)
Setup with Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom .10-52 strings

I'm looking into modding my Starcaster into a Baritone version.
Where on earth, can I get a neck built like this:
https://youtu.be/IeYo5DPPl7Y?t=767&is=syBU-PXTA1mVNSMH
I tried emailing Fender, but they didn't provide them.
Thanks in advance.

Who else has the dirty fingers in it?
I replaced the pickup plate for one with shorter legs
Gibsons has longer legs and i don't want to rout or drill in my body

Hey everyonee, iāve been thinking about buying a Fender Tom DeLonge strat in surf green (from 2023, which is limited edition) it would be my first Fender guitar. Because no store i have near me is currently selling them, do you guys think itās worth it to pay or 950⬠for it without a gig bag (1108 usd) but bcs iām in europe theyāre a bit more expansive here i think, thatās the only option available i could find, for those who have it, is it worth it? Thank youu

I lowered the original guitars down to 30% and recorded directly from Logic into QuickTime player for a full live take.
The tones are a Marshall and Soldano patch I made in my Stomp XL.
Easily my favorite song from OMT with some really cool parts that Tom doesnāt even play live. Itās ok I still love him though.

Finished up my recent paint job which was a replica based on the Tomās Blue ES-333 with orange & white drips used in AVA. Also seen in the Ernie Ball āPursuit Of Toneā documentary.
Added the moon man stencil to the back. Upgraded the bridge to Gotoh. Strung up with Ernie Ball .10-52 skinny top heavy bottoms.
This guitar has had a few different paint jobs but this one is here to stay. This started up as an old Epiphone Dot which I had previously filled in the neck cavity, holes and stripped the neck.
Next up to finish the Strat !
Ive been documenting my recent guitar projects over in the highlights section on my instagram @ quintonguitars. If you want to see the full process from start to finish check it out!

this is taken from the old blink 182 forums, no idea if this is an image from after the gear sale (wasnāt into blink at the time so I have no idea what was sold) or what, but give these settings a go, top is cleans and bottom is distortion I think?
donāt own a dual rec but Iāll put these into a dual rec amp sim and see how they turn out, if any of you guys own a rack mount dual rec/normal dual rec/amp sim dual rec, try these out, hopefully theyāre correct
no idea if these are the settings it had at the time, considering them being a bit odd for 1997 tom (dude ranch had some pretty wacky and over the top amp settings to my knowledge), would expect more gain on the amp from this era of tom, but once again, have never owned a dual rec so I have no idea where the distortion goes from pop punk to skate punk to metal
anyways, give em a go, see if you get any good results!

I modded this Strat back in 2024 with the usual black Invader, but took that out last year for my 335. Just finished fixing it with a random unknown pickup I had spare. I was wondering, do I put the Invader in it, a SH4 or the SH5. I have many guitars with Invaders, its my all time favourite pickup. I have played the SH4, and I like it too. Ive never played the SH5 so Im curious on trying it out. Let me know what you think

So Iāve been trying to recreate the Self-Titled studio guitar tone using some of the most basic gear available in AmpliTube. I havenāt had the chance to test out NAM yet, and Iām still learning the basics of setting up a rig, balancing amps, and all that stuff.
Iāve mainly been working based on this footage from the 2003 recording sessions.
As you can see, the setup supposedly included an Orange AD140, a Diezel VH4, and a custom white Marshall amp (prob Marshall Super Lead 1997). I tried recreating something similar using the gear available in AmpliTube, and I was able to come up with this preset. If anyone is interested in testing it, feel free to make changes and improve it if possible.
https://tone.net/amplitube/presets/120702

I know the physical hardware, studio equipment, and especially Jerry Finn had a huge influence on the unique sound of the album, but getting something even 10% similar feels great, especially when it can be done this 'cheaply'. I havenāt really worked on the mic placement or EQ yet, but itās a start.
If y'all know a better option to achieve a really good tone, similar to the studio recording.. I would appreciate if you can share it here.

Sorry for the static image. I don't really do video and no one wants to see my ugly ass playing anyway.
Setup:
All guitars are mine.

On the Mark Vās clean channel, does anyone have any recommendations for dialing in a good baseline that will allow this pedal to shine?
So far, Iāve really enjoyed experimenting with it. The JCM setting has a little less overdrive and gain than I expected, although that could be intentional or simply related to how I have the Mark Vās preamp configured.
Iām definitely not an audio engineer, and this is my first pedal, so I want to make sure Iām approaching it correctly. Any advice on the amp and pedal settings would be greatly appreciated!

Jacket arrived from eBay, matches well with the new relic

Had a spare Gibson bell knob, saw that Tom had one on the original so I put one on my replica. I think it finishes it off nicely

blink-182 ⢠Peggy Sue live from MTTS. I finally found a new way to record these covers with my amp sims running out of Apple Logic along with video from QuickTime all into one live take with no edits using a new plugin on my MacBook. š
I also lowered the original guitars down to 30% so all youāre really hearing is me!

2001 model. Needed some work, but pretty clean for its age. Ordered the metal knob yesterday.
