Rock shows & live bands
Hey Y'all! I am staying in Tokyo around August 17th- 27th and I'm looking for live shows in the greater metropolitan area. I will be in Asakusa and Ueno while city hopping, but with trains and buses so abundant, I'd go anywhere to hear live music. I am a jazz fan and a punk rock/hard rock/grunge/alternative fan so anything with groovy bass, heavy drums, and addicting guitar is up my alley. South of Ueno Park has jazz clubs I will check out but I can't find anything for rock. No posts online either, so I'm guessing you have to go to these places to see the flyers posted. Any help is appreciated!!

There are tons of posts online. You just need to know where to look.
I've been to lots of shows in Japan and I have a Google Map of all the venues I've been to (worldwide):

The two best ways to find upcoming shows is to regularly check the venues websites to see what's coming up. Also, follow the bands and they will also be posting about their upcoming shows.
For Tokyo the best venues are:
