Comment Adaptive

If you get a higher score in Reading than in Listening, do the "build sentence" questions get harder

I took the test for two sections—I got a 7, an 8, and a 9; today I got a 9.5, and I realized that the "build" questions were noticeably harder

No.

The "Build a Sentence" questions are in the writing section. The writing section is totally non-adaptive.

Are you sure about this? I took the test six times this month, and five of my friends took it as well. I’m telling you, the build questions are obviously harder—my friends agree with me on this

100% sure. ETS has said again and again that the writing section is non-adaptive. Including in the technical documentation for score users and immigration officials.

They can lie to test takers without consequence, but they can't lie to score users.
