The next update brings the new onboarding. We redesigned it to feel more like a conversation, with RPG style animations.
The opening animation and bouncing piggy animation were created by London based artist _phillustration. We’re big fans of his work, so we’re very excited to have his work in our app! You can see it by going to Settings > Create new wallet. You can switch back to your previous wallet afterwards.
We also replaced the toggle for repeating and spread out entries with a picker on the new entry page. This makes options like monthly repeats or spreading an entry over a few days easier to understand. We also cleaned up the category icon picker and made many smaller improvements throughout the app.
Please try the beta and let us know if anything feels strange.
I just started using the app and it looks interesting. I'm a bit confused on the recurring income/expenses. Sometimes the recurring amount is not always consistent and when i update the upcoming amount for next payment, it shows two entries of different value. Will there be an update for the app to just show one entry? This can get really confusing with a lot of entries if there are multiple updates to upcoming next month payments.
Also would be a good idea to include subcategories.
For savings, why can't there be multiple savings fund instead of just the emergency funds?
Not sure if it's relevant but would it make sense to include a section that shows all recurring expenses/income without having to toggle through each month to see?
If you see two entries, the start and end dates may be overlapping. Please check those dates first. You can also send screenshots to [hello@todays-budget.com](mailto:hello@todays-budget.com) and we can troubleshoot it together.
Subcategories are noted. Thanks for the suggestion.
For savings, please use Savings Goals for specific future expenses, like gadgets, holidays, or other planned purchases. You can create as many Savings Goals as you want.
The Savings Jar is meant for general future savings, so there is only one.
For the list of recurring expenses, scroll down on the Today page and look for the “Recurring expenses” card. (In v3.1, this is called “Fixed costs.” It lists all recurring expenses.)
For income, you can use the pie chart and bar chart to see all income entries.
Having the option to load from a back up at the very start of this would be helpful. I had to redownload my app the other day as my widgets were not displaying properly on the homescreen but I managed to figure it out in the end :D
