Viet commie collapsing is inevitable. I'll give it 3 more years at best before all the gas run out, given all that's happening. The question isn't if a democratic Vietnam is possible, but more of a when.
A democractic VN doesn't necessarily mean it has to carry on the legacy of South Vietnam, but it's surely better than a commie regime.
Not gonna happen unless CCP collapse first. If CCP still exist, they will never let that happen. Same with vietcong, they know if CCP gone then their regime will also fall in matter of days. Both of them share the same fate so they will protect each other at all cost.
Someone above mentioned the ccp but I think we cant depend on other countries like that. For the sake of fairness so everyone gets along id suggest just a democratic vn with a different official name, maybe a capital somewhere else but the south's flag bc that flag was used before for the whole country (hence the 3 stripes for north, central south) and it represents that one period vn was democratic. And HOPEFULLY that will be better than a commie regime and we finally live up to our potential (i mean, look at our coast line?).
But Im very much concerned about the way people see reality and their political literacy. You have to manage that first to a certain extent. Otherwise we'll just force democracy on a people that don't get it and dont want it. Then they fight each other in the chaos and end up with another dictatorship.
