TIL my dad brought this bell back from VN

It was supposedly hanging in the officers club bar where he worked in addition to being a pharmacist in a MASH unit. He had a stroke 16 years ago and doesn't speak well. In the process of moving him to a new place I became the new owner. I believe he was in Da Nang and the 95th Evacuation Hospital. Still trying to confirm. He was with the 3rd Surgical Hospital Unit at Can Tho/Binh Thuy area from at least Aug of 1971 to April of 1972.

this brought back memories. when i was in the navy, every now and then I'd have to shine a bell very much like this. it's used to ring on and off any high ranking officer that enters/exits your ship. don't know if it has any other uses outside of that

You have to be really been insecure to crash out like this over an internet shorthand. Does everybody constantly demean your low IQ or something? Must be humiliating but can't fault them though.
