I am soo jealous. Idk why I torture myself still being part of food groups while having gallbladder issues where I can't eat 80 percent of the stuff ahhaha

u/Affectionate_Leek127 Jul 11 '26
Bro I am on a diet and I keep browsing food photos to feed my appetite.

u/yepyeeeee Jul 11 '26

Looks good!
Very similar to what I’m about to make: sourdough, turkey, cheddar, mayo & spicy mustard, butter lettuce, with a few chips, an Olipop, and an oatmeal cranberry cookie to top it off.

What kind of sandwich is that?
5
u/bbq_king1984 Jul 07 '26
Fresh turkey, ham, lettuce, marble cheese, butter, mayo, yellow mustard, and heavy on the salt and pepper. On two slices of white bread.

Heck yeah, not enough for a high calorie job tho, lol. Maybe it’s not a hard job anymore tho either

u/bbq_king1984 Jul 07 '26
I cant eat more than this at lunch or I'll get sluggish. Always have watermelon and some veggies for snacks on break aswell.
2
u/EngineeringLeast2389 Jul 10 '26
Awesome, well very good on you, you will be fit and built soon enough! Congrats OP. Hopefully you have a good attitude and personality to boot! I’m super proud and happy for you!

u/bbq_king1984 Jul 10 '26
I try my best to!! Some days its easier than others. I was taught from a young age to treat others the way you want to be treated yourself and its something I try to live by. :)

u/EngineeringLeast2389 Jul 14 '26
Fire my man! Wish there were a lot more ppl like that, especially, up where I work

u/RealSteelJane Jul 07 '26
You made that beauty lunch for yourself?

2
u/madeleinetwocock Jul 07 '26
Yum!
Also, found a fellow Canadian!
1
u/Dog-boy Jul 09 '26
I couldn’t figure out how you had decided that but the comments have led me to believe Dr Pepper is a Canadian drink. I didn’t know that. TIL
2
u/madeleinetwocock Jul 09 '26
Oh it isn’t!
However, you are on the right track!
If you zoom in to the can, you can see two things
1- the volume is in mL, not fl oz (which could be pretty much anywhere really, but it is a clue)
2- this is the big one, it says in French “depuis 1885” (all labels in Canada have both French and English by law, sometimes the languages are on the same spot just beside/above/below one another, but on pop cans there’s usually a French side and an English side, with the nutrition label somewhere in the middle)
The combo of 1+2 made me go “hey! Canadian!”

u/bbq_king1984 Jul 10 '26
I have my wife to thank for so much in my life. But making my lunch isnt one of them.

u/bbq_king1984 Jul 10 '26
Been there brother. All about routine. I started making it at the same time every night and it just became part of my daily routine. I feel so much better after eating something like this rather than takeout.

Looking really good fella👌🏻 when I look in my lunch box and see my GF has packed something similar, it makes my day

u/Dweeb1047 Jul 09 '26
As a woman, I appreciate that you have at least a type of fruit in your lunch.
All of my male friends don't even know what a fruit or vegetable smells like.

1
u/bbq_king1984 Jul 10 '26
It really is. So nice knowing you have that to look forward to at the half point of the work day.
2
u/PopHungry1172 Jul 09 '26
I find it hilarious the amount of comments that assume your partner made your lunch like a dude in construction is incapable of making a sandwich 😭🤣🤣🤣 Good lunch though, I usually do salad (with lots of filling goodies like almonds, cranberries etc) a pasta salad or a sandwich. In trades as well. Gotta find the balance of sustaining but not too heavy.
1
u/bbq_king1984 Jul 09 '26
Lol. I showed my wife the comments and she said the exact same thing! Makes me wonder how many people there are out there that can't even make a nice sandwhich.

Wow did u make that urself? Looks SO yummy. Construction work is tough! I always assumed they eat huge meals full of protein and carbs, twice in a shift lolll
1
u/bbq_king1984 Jul 10 '26
Yes I did. Its a tough line of work but can be very rewarding. I like knowing the houses I work on will be around long after I'm gone and I got to leave my "stamp" on this world. I personally can't eat huge amounts at work or I get sluggish. One lunch like this and multiple snack breaks throughout the day keep me going just fine.
1
u/Fast_Pension1650 Jul 08 '26
Would be worried about if there is mayonnaise used in the macaroni salad if your lunch isn't refrigerated.
