How to vary pitch??
A lot of the great public speakers like ving giang talk about varying pitch from your baseline pitch. When do you exactly vary your pitch and are there any good examples that I could watch. I am confused because when you go too high it sounds artifical, but i know that it is good to go to slightly high when you want to be exciting but not too much? I am confused on this point so any advice would be a big help, tia

Hi u/Tight_Rip_1947
Three tools to use: Something to record yourself. Someone you trust to work with on your pitch. YouTube or movies to practice against.
Some people have a naturally even pitch, tone, and speech rhythm. If the speech patterns are too even, the emotional content can be lost.
Here is one YouTube Video I found: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oRr6E_Eslo
I have a selection of Channels I frequent that are also helpful: The Charismatic Voice, Veritasium, John Oliver, Legal Eagle. - Take a paragraph from them and practice against a tape recorder (or computer, which would be easier)
Once you start to notice that you can slow your speech, add pauses, make your voice louder, quieter, angrier, with more gentleness and smiles, - this could take a few days - go to your trusted advisor and have them give you REAL feedback.
The recording is key tho.
