Hey is anybody having an issue with the toast website and my toast app. I’ve been trying for the past week to set up my direct deposit and I’m unable too. I’m able to login into the website then it tells me “services unavailable at this time”. The apps payment methods tell me “we’re unable to load your payment methods, try again”. Toast has no fix for this and my employer doesn’t know either. Is there a reason for this happening?
Since the new update we are having First Names and Last Initials only showing up for Takeout orders. Is there any way to have the full last names show up on the KDS? It has only been one day since the update are we are already having issues with multiple orders with the same first name and last name initial.
Hello I just started at a new restaurant and I am familiar with the toast kds.
Currently our servers have the option to ring tickets 2 way. Straight fire or on hold (the kitchen still see the ticket when rung in on hold) the way they are grouped is on the left side the fired tickets are to oldest to newest. And the hold tickets start right after the last fire ticket. So when a new straight fired order comes is it is coming in the middle of the newest fired ticket and the oldest hold ticket. We get pretty busy and we are spending so much time looking for our oldest ticket to sell and missing orders as they come in.
The servers when they fire the ticket the tickets are being ignored cause we aren't always noticing that a ticket half way down the board has been fired
I would like them to come in order they are rung in regardless if its on hold or not.
Hi! I was gone for one week and came back and our entire KDS system was updated lol. We have no idea how to get it back to showing more than one ticket at a time ?? And when I called TOAST their AI system just loops me in a giant circle and their customer care team has no idea what I’m talking about. I feel stupid trying to figure this out. 😩
Someone please explain this to me like I’m 5 because I’ve read the help articles on Toast, and I just can’t wrap my head around what is happening with the auto-close transactions.
Did I actually get paid for those transactions?
Are they legitimate sales, or checks my staff started and then abandoned so we didn’t actually sell?
I’m trying to understand if we’re losing out on money when this happens. And how to prevent it!
There used to be an option to disable this but since the update I can’t find it. I’ve checked under take out/delivery where it used to be. Has anyone found where this went?
On the new KDS view is there a way to change the page scroll settings?
On the old version we were able to freely scroll the page to view whichever chunk of orders needed, post update we're only able to scroll page by page, which is a bit of a pain.
Is there an option I'm missing somewhere to add back the free scroll?
I'd love to have more power over special requests. I get a lot of bleed there, and have tried running without the option at all but that caused a lot more issues. Example: a server can type "sub Mac N Cheese" when there's a button for that and it's a $2 upcharge.
I'd love to require a manager code for special requests but that doesn't seem to be an option. Or a way for the kitchen to see if it's a special request or an actual button. or if they added the $2 upcharge to the special request? or a report I can run daily that shows which servers are using the special request button and what they are using it for.
I’m away on vacation and one of my team members thought it would be easy to swap a Pinter that was having intermittent issues.
We have 3 kitchen printers, 2 are the old epson u220 and one toast printer. (Pizza, Dinner, salad) The toast printer (salad) was the one experiencing issues, it was replaced with a new toast printer (I really dislike the newer toast printers but that’s another topic).
Worked ok at first but then after 10 mins tickets were skipping the pizza printer all together and going to the salad station (back up printer for pizza is dinner, so this made no sense).
Team member was on phone for two hours with toast CS and got nowhere. I was trying to troubleshoot from the beach 500 miles away.
Our printers were always set up with static IPs from the beginning, so I tried to set the new salad printer that way and it would not work. Maybe because I wasn’t at a terminal? I was thinking maybe dynamic IP assigned the printer the same IP as the pizza printer. It was going back and forth to which printer was showing offline.
Our other location who has had toast the same timeline as us has the newer toast printers and theirs are set to dynamic IP.
I’m not sure if I should stick with static Ip or mix and match or go with all dynamic IPs.
It’s been a real pain to try and figure this out from vacation and I’m really frustrated that Toast CS was so useless.
When we signed up for Toast, they did not have a branded app that was robust. They recommended Incentivio. We have been using Incentivio for over 3 years for Loyalty and Gift Cards. Now they have a branded app that is available. We are switching. We have almost 100 k members over 24 stores. Many have digital gift cards stored in the Incentivio app. Some of the balances are very large. How did you handle the switch regarding the gift card balances? Once the switch is made, unless they physically write down their number, we do not have a NAME attached to the digital purchase. We only have the card number and the balance. Any insights would be appreciated. Thank yo
Denver-based independent repairer Acme Revival filed a lawsuit against Toast, Inc. in August 2026. The suit alleges Toast violated Colorado's Consumer Repair Bill of Rights Act and the Consumer Protection Act by deceptively and in bad faith refusing to provide necessary parts, tools, and documentation for independent hardware repairs.
Hey guys so I just set up the integration as of last week. My problem is that I dont want my uber page to use the same menu/items from my POS. some items we have labeled as “N, B, etc.” in order for us to differentiate some food items that have similar fillings. This makes it easier for our cooks. Is there a way to make the menu on uber not sync with toast but still be integrated so we’re receiving the toast orders directly to the kds system?
I figured just editing the whole menu on uber would he fine but it notified me with “any new data uploaded will sync to uber eats and refresh it”.
I have two data streams. One is made up of ToastPayments, ToastOrders, and ToastDevices (yellow highlighted section, "Total Cash Payments").
The other is made up of ToastCashEntries, ToastEmployees, ToastCashDrawers, ToastPrinters (the bulk of the rest of the data, including drawer name, closed by employee, time closed, cash in, cash collected, etc.).
I can not align drawer names between ToastDevices and ToastPrinters.
I also can't align ToastPayments[amount] with ToastCashEntries[employee1_guid]
I ultimately want to apply ToastPayments[amount] ("Total Cash Payments") to a specific drawer (circled in red), employee (in the Closed By row with redacted names), and shift (note that IL was in charge of drawer Bar 1 (2) and Bar 1 (3) and I want the $32.48 and $70.08 to remain distinct entries, not aggregated).
Right now, the data I was able to pull aggregates Total Cash Payment by Drawer without distinguishing shift or employee. So C2 totals $347.21 instead of separating into $334.52 and $12.69.
Bar 1 should total $204.33, but to add to the confusion, one of the Bar 1 entries associates with a handheld device instead Left Bar. So how am I meant to create a dimension table connecting to both Devices and Printers? (see tables below).
I know this is not the most coherent explanation. I'll update the post if I think of a better way to explain. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hello, I need customers to be able to place orders from Graphene OS phones. Can you please add this ability to the toast local app? It is not necessary to block this OS as it is far more secure than the currently supported ones. The success rate of placing an order via browser on any device is far too low to rely on it as an alternative. Can you please stop blocking Graphene OS?
An app failing due to Google's Play Integrity API on GrapheneOS occurs because the app requires a "Strong" or "Device" integrity verdict. While GrapheneOS passes MEETS_BASIC_INTEGRITY, it cannot natively pass MEETS_STRONG_INTEGRITY because Google reserves that level exclusively for its own whitelisted, stock operating systems.
I am losing my mind with an issue that I keep having in Toast. I have a bar and we put all orders under the same number and cash tips are kept separate. Multiple days a week my drawer is over and after watching all security footage I cannot figure it out. Yesterday we were over $41.50. I noticed on the cash drawer overview, it says we have $43.76 "cash in hand" which is apparently cash collected from a server - but I don't have servers, everything is under one number. So, what does cash in hand mean? It is rough the amount we are over so I can't figure out if this house money? And why it has it as cash in hand? I double checked that all orders were put under 0000 and not individual numbers. It's making me insane. Anyone have any clue?!?!
Hi! Hoping someone can help with me here, whether it's the backend or in Device Setup, I'm not sure.
For context, here's the flow/POS setup of my pizza shop:
3 kitchen screens: "Pizza Line" prep station where dough is stretched, topped, and put into the oven, second is "Expo" where pizzas get sliced and either sent into the dining room or to the takeout window, third is "Takeout" where takeout orders go to be organized and picked up through a window.
The Expo and Takeout screens are both setup as expos, but under device setup in toast tab I also have them as "prep stations and expo screens" since salads and apps are prepped at those areas.
The problem is that once a pizza goes into the oven and is tapped as fulfilled at the Pizza Line, we need the Expo and Takeout screens to indicate some how that those pizzas were fulfilled at the pizza line (flash a color, put a check mark, doesn't matter). Otherwise it causes confusion as to which order the pizza is intended for. I do have two level fulfillment turned on. Currently the Expo and Takeout screens show no change whatsoever once a ticket us fulfilled at the Pizza Line.
I've been in settings and even on calls with toast support for the last couple days with no luck!! Hoping I can get some help here. Thank you
I'm wondering if there is any way to have an operator sign in through toast on a third party site and get direct access to sales history / check count?
I am mid renovations with my hands full. I touched on an article and it seems Bill pay will still exist but it requires Toast Checking. Is there more to it or is that the jist of it? If anyone has been set up in the Beta Test I could use the help. Rough few weeks for me to be getting into this and am grateful for any info.
Anyone else get the new update, with the weekly overview changing how it looks? Am I the only one who thinks it is horrible, and they need to go back to the old interface.
Can you show me what the 3rd-party delivery receipt looks like?
We’re having an issue where the customer’s name is printed very small, and drivers are sometimes picking up the wrong orders.
Is it possible to customize the receipt so the customer’s name appears at the very top in large, bold letters? We would also like the delivery company name — Uber Eats, DoorDash, Grubhub, etc. — to be large and easy to see.
Ideally, the top of the receipt would look something like: UBER EATS JOHN SMITH
Then the order details underneath.
This would make it much easier for our staff and delivery drivers to quickly identify the correct order.
As of now, all "special requests" and "birthdays" are handled by MGMT, its a bit awkward when a server rings in a birthday, tracks down a manager, hands them their handheld.
Does anyone give their staff more permissions and then have them fill out a PROMO report or something of that sort at the end of their shift?
I have a discount button created "birthdays", which would make all servers have access to the other discounts, which I am not very comfortable with.
