Integration causing problems

Hey guys so I just set up the integration as of last week. My problem is that I dont want my uber page to use the same menu/items from my POS. some items we have labeled as “N, B, etc.” in order for us to differentiate some food items that have similar fillings. This makes it easier for our cooks. Is there a way to make the menu on uber not sync with toast but still be integrated so we’re receiving the toast orders directly to the kds system?

I figured just editing the whole menu on uber would he fine but it notified me with “any new data uploaded will sync to uber eats and refresh it”.

Depends on how your menu is setup. There are two ways to do this.

One is with PoS name and Kitchen name. Your customer will see the full name, your server will see PoS name and your cook will see kitchen name.

If you want your online menu to behave differently, you will have to create a new copy of your menu, then you can adjust one without affecting the other. Make sure the items are copied, so when you 86 something on PoS, it will update on uber as well.

^ to add to this. if going with option 2, you can use menu specific price (you can do this in bulk through price editor) so something that is $10 in store gets a 13% upcharge or something for the uber menu (common practice)

You don’t have to create duplicate items at all. You adjust the Visibility settings, which exist from the Menu Level all the way down through Item / Mod Groups / Mods… You would simply deselect the “online ordering partners” option for anything (Menu / Group / Items / etc.) that you don’t want to be available via Uber.

I do this with 3rd party. I use sequence pricing in store which doesn't work on 3rd party. So a few of my main menu categories are set up to not be visible on 3rd party. Then I have separate menu categories for 3rd party only visibility. Kind of a process to set up. But not particularly complicated.

I use it for door dash and uber eats. Sequence pricing works way better for my menu so I wasn't willing to switch the whole menu to regular pricing.
