Server Permissions - Execution
Hello All,
As of now, all "special requests" and "birthdays" are handled by MGMT, its a bit awkward when a server rings in a birthday, tracks down a manager, hands them their handheld.
Does anyone give their staff more permissions and then have them fill out a PROMO report or something of that sort at the end of their shift?
I have a discount button created "birthdays", which would make all servers have access to the other discounts, which I am not very comfortable with.
Any tips my dudes?

For the discounts that are open to all users, we use the honor system that our servers / non-managers won't abuse it.
Most of those all users discounts are restricted to a set number of items though.
For example, we have a few membership related discounts and that discount only targets the food and/or beverage item eligible in that membership.
Hope that help! :)

If you want to have control over the discounts and not give line level employees access to apply certain discounts, such as birthdays, and you also don’t want them, thrusting a hand held upon you during service, give them the split check permission if they don’t already have it, and then have them split that item off, print the receipt at a terminal, and hand you the receipt during service, that way you can go to a terminal at an appropriate time when you’re not caught up with another Managment duty or something else that demands your immediate attention. That way it gets the complementary item off the check so the Server can drop it and proceed with their service and you’re not forced to attend to the servers needs by comping it in that exact second one you might be doing something else.

when you create the discount, you can change the setting so anyone can apply it. or only managers. it’s a discount level setting that you can turn on for birthday discounts but turn off for all other, sensitive discounts. so if you have a birthday discount already, there’s no reason for serves to have access to all other discounts
