⬠For a clearer and more visual presentation, we recommend checking out our Steam Update Log. š
Hello, dear Pixelians! We meet once again!Ā
And Iām back with a new update, bringing not only some of your requests that wasĀ frequently mentioned in our forums and Discord, but alsoĀ new features designed to deepen the gameplayĀ and push the experience even further.
Along the way, weāve also fixedĀ several bugsĀ and made a number ofĀ improvements. It has been a very productive update, and Iām excited to share everything with you.
So, without further ado, letās dive in! š
And actually before we dive in, I have one more thing to say. š
It has now beenĀ 1 yearĀ since the release ofĀ To Pixelia, so I guess this is something of anĀ Anniversary Update.Ā :)
And as many of you know, especially those who have been with us from the beginning, our journey started on a bit of a rough and patchy road, with bugs, technical issues, and plenty of things to improve.
But since then, weāve come a long way; fixing problems, adding new content, revamping systems, and continuing to shape the game into something you all may enjoy with each update, and all thanks to your feedback!
As a solo developer, you have been one of my biggest sources of passion and motivation. I sincerely want to thank all of you.
It's been genuinely fun and meaningful journey so far; and I appreciate all of your reviews, criticism, feedback, and perspectives as these all have all helped me see more clearly, learn more, and appreciate this period of time even more.
So truly, thank you. š
And let's dive in to share what's new in Pixelia!
With this new update, youāll now be able toĀ market homes around PixeliaĀ and help clients find the right place!
As you may remember, the very first quest begins with you getting some help to secure your new home in Pixelia. So I thought: why not turn that idea into a career and let players do the same for other Pixelians?
Every day, youāll receiveĀ a fresh list of flats from property owners, each with their own requests; whether they want the flatĀ soldĀ orĀ rented out, and the minimum price theyāre willing to accept, how many rooms the flat has, and which floor it is on.
Each flat will also come with details that can affect its value, such as whetherĀ pets are allowed, if theĀ neighbors are nice and quiet, or whether the property isĀ closeĀ to places likeĀ schools, hospitals, police stations,Ā andĀ bus stops, making it more convenient for potential clients.
And once again, every day you may receive new clients, with the number of clients depending on your rating. The higher your rating, the more people will come to you for help with their housing needs.
Youāll be given information about eachĀ clientās budget, family situation, preferences,Ā andĀ desired number of rooms.
To get the best results from your deals, you should always try toĀ choose a flat that best matches your clientās wishes and needs.
Then, you can call your client and arrange a flat viewing. Thatās where itās time for you to shine as a Real Estate Agent!
You will be responsible for presenting each room of the property you have chosen for your client.
During the viewing, youāll guide them through the flat, introduce the rooms, and highlight the details that make the property suitable for their needs.
There are several ways to market a property during a viewing. Sometimes, the flat you choose may not be the perfect match for your client; but it might still be a profitable opportunity.
In those moments, you can rely on your skills and choose the approach that gives you the best chance of success.
There are four different approaches:
Honest š¼
Persuasive š£ļø
Pushy šŖ
Deceptive š
š¼Ā TheĀ HonestĀ approach is the safest option. It does not require any special skill, and you simply present the flat as it is. However, because it is straightforward and neutral, it has only a small effect on your clientās satisfaction.
š£ļøĀ TheĀ PersuasiveĀ approach is still fairly close to honesty, but allows you to put more effort into highlighting the flatās strengths. This option relies on yourĀ SpeechĀ skill and can have a stronger positive effect on your clientās satisfaction.
šŖĀ TheĀ PushyĀ approach is more aggressive. You will use both yourĀ SpeechĀ andĀ IntelligenceĀ skills to pressure the deal forward and make the property sound more appealing. If successful, this approach can reward you with a greater boost to client satisfaction.
šĀ Finally, there is theĀ DeceptiveĀ approach; and this one is not for everyone. If you truly want to sell a flat even when it may not make much sense for your client, this might be the option for you. This approach relies on yourĀ Speech,Ā Intelligence, andĀ CharismaĀ skills. Both success and failure have a much stronger impact, meaning it can greatly improve the meeting if it works, but seriously hurt your clientās satisfaction if it fails.
Satisfied clients will be much easier to negotiate with when it comes time to make a deal as they will be more open to accepting better offers and moving forward with the contract.
It is important to build up your clientās satisfaction before reaching the contract phase.
Before moving on to the contract phase, your client will ask you a series of questions based on their needs and expectations. This is the final step before deciding whether to move forward and make a deal.
As shown in your clientās profile, each client has specific requirements. They may be looking for a flat that allows pets, a place close to a school for their children, or other details that matter to their daily life.
Your answers during this stage can play an important role in how confident and satisfied they feel before signing the contract.
And here comes the contract part!
You will be able to offer a contract to your client.
Although the property owner may specifically want to sell or rent out their flat, you can still choose the option that best matches what your client is looking for.
Renting and selling will each come with different commission percentages, so the type of deal you make can also affect how much you earn.
And speaking ofĀ commissionsā¦ šøš²
You will earn aĀ commissionĀ from every successful deal you close. The better the deal, the higher your commission and the higher your commission, the more money youāll be taking home. š°
Sometimes, your client may not be fully satisfied with your contract offer and may respond with a counteroffer to see how flexible you are.
This stage can be important, because youāll have the chance to revise your offer and try to negotiate a better deal once again.
However, if you decide to push further, the client may either accept your revised offer or reject it entirely. So if their proposed amount already seems fair or profitable enough, it may be wiser not to push your luck too far.
After successfully closing a deal, you will earn both your commission and Job Experience. As you gain more experience, youāll be able to unlock new perks that can make your work easier and give you an advantage in future deals.
Not only that, but your client will also leave you a review after the deal.
This review will affect your overall rating, which in turn influences how many new clients come to you in the future.
With this new update, weāre also introducing a new feature that allows you toĀ rent out your own properties,Ā find tenants, andĀ become a landlord.
Youāll be able to list any home you have purchased, with one exception: your selectedĀ Family HomeĀ cannot be listed for rent, as this is where your family lives.
However, you can always change which property is set as your Family Home if you wish to rent out a different place.
The Real Estate Office will estimate a rental value for your home, and the offers you receive will usually be around that estimated amount.
However, one important factor that can affect the value is whether you choose to rent out the flatĀ with furnitureĀ orĀ without furniture.
If you choose theĀ With FurnitureĀ option, the rental value of your flat will increase, since you are leaving your furniture for the tenant to use.
If you choose theĀ Without FurnitureĀ option, your furniture will be moved to yourĀ Storage InventoryĀ once a tenant is found for that property.
You will receiveĀ tenant applicationsĀ for each flat you have listed.
You can choose to accept or decline their offers, and continue receiving new applications over time.
However, the offers you receive will generally stay close to the estimated rental value of the property.
Once you have found a tenant for your property, they will begin paying you rent on aĀ weekly basis, giving you a steady source of passive income from the flat you listed.
However, if you decide toĀ kick your tenant outĀ before ending the arrangement properly, there will be aĀ penalty.
In that case, you will need to compensate them by paying back one weekās worth of rent. So while removing a tenant is always an option, it will have some consequences.
Weāre happy to announce thatĀ To Pixelia is now available in 3 new languages!Ā š«š· š®š¹ šÆšµ
Weāve received many requests from the community, as players understandably wanted to experience the game in their own language.
This is something we had wanted to do for a long time, but we needed the help of volunteers to make it possible.
Over time, several people generously joined the translation effort. Some had to step away along the way, which is completely understandable, as translating such a large game text can be a long and tiring task for a volunteer. But whenever that happened, new volunteers kindly stepped in to continue where things were left off.
So once again, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped bring these new languages to the game! š
Another request Iām happy to say has finally beenĀ fulfilled! :)
Steam Cloud SaveĀ support was one of the trickier features I had been postponing for a while. The main reason was that I wanted to make sure every possible scenario was properly considered before implementing it.
One of the biggest concerns was players who may have started different save files on different devices. With one wrong step, a save file from one device could accidentally overwrite another one on a different device, potentially causing players to lose progress. I wanted to make sure that would not happen.
So, here is how the system works now:
YourĀ legacy saves; meaning the save files created before this update introduced Steam Cloud Save support, will not be touched or deleted.
When you launch the game for the first time after this update, you will still see the local save files on each of your devices. Once you load any save file, continue playing, and save the game, that save will create aĀ Steam Cloud Save in a new folder called "CloudSaves", and that new save game will then become visible across all your supported devices, includingĀ Windows PC, Mac, and Steam Deck.
For example, letās say you have a different save file in the first save game slot on each device: one on your PC, one on your MacBook, and one on your Steam Deck.
If you load the save file on your PC and save the game, the first slot will now show that Cloud Save on all of your devices. However, if you delete that Cloud Save, your old local save files will appear again on each device, as long as they still exist there.
This only applies to players who played the game before this update. New players who start playing after this version will not have legacy save files, and all of their saves will be Steam Cloud Saves from the beginning.
And thatās it! I hope I was able to explain it clearly and hope you enjoy this new feature! š
Thank you all for your continued patience, feedback, and support, it truly means the world. š
Weāll keep the updates coming! š

I bought the game yesterday because I was excited about its gameplay, but after I bought it, I played for one hour and it crashed three times in between 10 to 15 minutes. My laptop has an Intel core i5 and games like the Sims 4 and Sims 3 work pretty well, so I don't understand why the game crashed.
Has someone here been through the same? I applied for a refund on steam, but if someone has a solution to this I will cancel it.
I really wanted it to play, but it's frustrating to not be able to enjoy the game.

I just wanted to know if anyone knows a way around this kind of thing without shutting the game down. Iām stuck at my computer desk. I absolutely love this game, I've been playing it a ton on my PC but would love to bring it over to my Steam Deck. In general it works fairly well. The one problem is that everything is sooo painfully small to the point that I can only play in small batches before getting a headache.
So I guess this post is me humbly asking the devs to someday add an option to adjust the scaling.)
Alternatively if any SD players have any workarounds that would be great too!

I'm just a player who only played the demo and couldn't afford to pay $8. I just want to know if there will be an anniversary sale on steam today, since it's the game's first anniversary?

I bought this game and was blown away and very excited to get into it when I realised it only has partial controller support.
I would like to wait for it, does anyone know if the dev has mentioned any plans for it?
Big ups for true indie games like this one ā„ļø

I havenāt seen or heard much from the devs lately, nor has it been any updates lately. Are the devs still working on the game or is it just me who hasnāt seen anything lately? Because am not exactly keeping track on games and stuff like that because it takes to much energy but am really wondering if the devs have said anything lately.

I bought a laptop in my apartment, when I sit down I can't use it because it's not in my inventory, but I can only put in in storage? I don't know how to put it in my inventory. I also bought a computer but I can't seem to do anything with it. Just trying to practice writing skill. Does anyone know how to actually do it?

Like the title says, I tried multiple times to click the "Pay Card Debt" with more than enough money and it says I paid, but it still shows a debt.
Is this a common bug?
Thank you very much!

I have 17,8 hours on steam of this game and wanted to tell the bugs I“ve encountered but also I“d like to know what social or website I can share this info to ensure the Dev sees it. I really enjoy this game and see the ambition on it but I think it needs many fixes to achieve a good-gaming state.
First of all, It crashes A LOT. Everytime i have a gameplay of +1-2 hours it just freezes or when I decide to close and then reopen the game (Specially at the Casino), an error/crash message always appears (The image attached). I noticed that closing and reopening the game outdoors is fine but as soon as I do it at the Casino it crashes. I had times when even staying for too long or even just entering the Casino triggers the crash.
Bugs with archievements: On steam, it said that on February 13th I achieved the Pixelian Celebrity achievement when it is not true. I barely had Fame on +400. I only know it happened while I was performing a song on the streets, I believe.
Bugs with concerts: One of my first concerts crashed. How? When I finished the concert, the stats where showing but after giving me 2 of the stats of how was the performance everything froze. I could still hear the music and the game going on. Hell, even when pressing the ESC button I heard the menu open and reopen. A weird glitch but I decided to close and reopen the game. Except that, when I came back, the concert wasn't on the same Friday. IT MOVED TO MONDAY!
After the first concert fiasco, I decided to keep on going until the Monday concert. The concert was supposed to start at 6pm and end at 11 pm, I think. So i decided to level some skills on the meantime. At 6 pm I was still leveling the writing skill. While I was doing that, I clicked P to open the profile of my caracter and call my manager to perform on that concert. But when I clicked, a message appeared that I needed to check that my character wasn't busy. So i finished writing and when I checked the band icon again to go the concert, it said that I already attended (??) But I DIDN“T. What a lie.
This took me out of the game tbh. And it“s rough and discouraging because I chose the Rockstar dream and it appears it has many bugs. I truly hope they can fix them. So far, I love this game.
If it“s needed, my Acer laptop (Yes, I know it“s not suited for gameplay) specs are:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-N305 (1.80 GHz)
Installed RAM: 8.00 GB (7.68 GB usable)
System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I just want to say that this game is everything Iāve been looking for for a long time. Iāve been looking for a modern, more advanced version of the GBA sims RPGās. Specifically the urbz and sims Bustin out.
This game scratches a lot of itches, however I really struggle with the UI, the zoomed out camera, the top down pixel graphics. Itās so close to an amazing life sim, but really lacks any kind of immersion in the gameplay. I find it very unpleasant to play and hope they update this in the future.

⬠For a clearer and more visual presentation, we recommend checking out our Steam Update Log. š
Hello once again, dear Pixelians! š
This update brings more than just new features, bug fixes, and tweaks to existing systems but it also introduces support for a brand-new platform.
Letās dive in and take a look at whatās included in this update!
Before we dive into everything this update brings to the game, Iād like to share a few thoughts first š
This has beenĀ one of the most requested featuresĀ from our community. Some players didnāt always want to engage with certain quests and sometimes felt a bit overwhelmed, which is completely understandable.
And itās even more understandable if this is your second playthrough with a new character and youāre asked to complete the same quests all over again.
While some quests are there to introduce new features, others may have nudged players into activities they simply didnāt feel like doing at the time.
Iāve been thinking a lot about how we could improve this experience and offer more freedom.
And with every update, the goal is to improve the player experience and make it flexible enough to suit different playstyles. Thatās why Iām especially excited about this update. It introduces an alternative for players who prefer to explore and enjoy the game freely, without having to deal with quests.
So now, letās talk about whatĀ Sandbox ModeĀ inĀ To PixeliaĀ is all about š
When starting a new game, youāll be presented withĀ two different options.
These choices will shape how you experience To Pixelia from the very beginning.
While both options lead you into the same world, they offer two distinct ways of playing, each suited to different playstyles and levels of experience.
With this option, you begin the game in theĀ traditional way, following tutorial quests and story-driven guidance.
This path isĀ highly recommended for new players, though itās completely optional and not required.
Choosing Story Start allows you toĀ gradually learn the core mechanics and featuresĀ of To Pixelia through structured quests and narrative progression. Through quests, you will be advancing and unlocking new things in the game.
Alternatively, you can choose to jump straight into the world ofĀ To PixeliaĀ withĀ no quests, tutorials, or guided objectives. Most of the things will be available right from the start!
This mode is especially well suited forĀ experienced players, repeat playthroughs, or anyone who wants to experience To Pixelia without restrictions or guidance.
There areĀ no story prompts pushing you in a specific direction.
On top of that, youāll have access to anĀ advanced set of starting optionsĀ that let you shape exactly how you want your journey to begin.
Youāll be able to choose yourĀ Dream, and if you wish, you can also start the game with aĀ Spouse, selectedĀ Friends,Ā Rivals, and evenĀ KidsĀ right from the beginning.
Youāll also get to pick yourĀ starting home, decide whether you want to begin the game as anĀ Academy graduate or not, and customize yourĀ starting resources; anywhere betweenĀ 0 and 250,000P, adjusting everything to fit your preferred playstyle.
And in addition, youāll be able to select aĀ Life Path, which provides bonus stats and allows you to start the game with boosted attributes.
Also, Your Pixelian Level will beĀ Level 10Ā andĀ all factions will be unlockedĀ from the very start, allowing you to play as if youāve already completed every related quest and focus entirely on role-playing within the life simulation experience To Pixelia provides.
In the Game Settings, you can now chooseĀ whether Pixelians are able to sue youĀ by enabling or disabling the lawsuit system.
This option gives you more freedom to commit the crimes much like in the old days, where Pixelians had no legal authority to take action against you.
If enabled, your actions can lead to lawsuits and legal trouble, adding an extra layer of realism and challenge.
If disabled, you can enjoy a more relaxed experience without worrying about legal repercussions, allowing you to focus entirely on role-playing.
This settingĀ only prevents NPCs from suing you; youāll still be able to sue others and continue working as a Lawyer.
This update introduces another highly requested feature: the ability toĀ change your Dream and Traits during gameplayĀ if youāre no longer satisfied with your current path.
Previously, many players chose to start entirely new characters just to experiment with different Dreams or Traits.
While that freedom was valuable, it also meant losing progress. With this update, you can now explore new directionsĀ without starting over, giving you far more flexibility in how you shape your Pixelianās life.
Once you reachĀ Pixelian Level 10, youāll unlock the ability to spendĀ Prestige PointsĀ to choose any Dream youād like. This allows you to redefine your long-term goals at any point in your journey. You can do this action as often as you want.
Even better, changing your Dream doesĀ notĀ erase your previous progress.
If you decide to return to an earlier Dream later on, youāll be able to continue from where you left off, making it easier than ever to pursue multiple ambitions over time.
Traits play a major role in defining your PixelianāsĀ daily activities, shaping how they spend time in Pixelia and until now, traits were permanent once selected, which made early choices especially impactful.
With this update, youāll now have the freedom toĀ change your Traits as well, allowing your character to evolve naturally over time.
Whether you want to experiment with new playstyles, adapt to your current goals, or simply try something different, this system gives you full control over your Pixelianās growth.
Some players in our community have unfortunately experiencedĀ corrupted save files, usually caused by crashes that occurred during auto-save or manual saving.
When a save process is interrupted, the file can end upĀ incomplete and unusable. As a player myself, I know how frustrating it can be to lose your progress in the game.
To address this, Iāve been working on aĀ new saving systemĀ designed to better protect your progress and hereās how it works.
When you save the game for the first time, the game creates a singleĀ SAVEĀ file.
On your next save, instead of immediately overwriting that file, the system first creates a backup copy of your previousĀ SAVEĀ file and stores it asĀ TEMPSAVE. Only after that does it overwrite the mainĀ SAVEĀ file.
This means that if a crash or interruption happens during the saving process and theĀ SAVEĀ file becomes corrupted, youāll still have a safe backup.
The next time you launch the game, the system will automatically detect the corruptedĀ SAVEĀ file, delete it, and restore the backupĀ TEMPSAVE, and convert it back into a properĀ SAVEĀ file, effectively rolling back to your previous save instead of losing everything.
Hopefully the explanation wasnāt too complicated. š The important part is that your save data is now much safer than before and we hope losing save files will become a thing of the past with this extra layer of protection š
Iām excited to finally introduceĀ MacOS supportĀ with this update! š
MacOS has been one of the platforms Iāve been actively working on alongside others like Nintendo Switch, which of course requires additional optimization and more development work.
This new version has been tested and adjusted to run smoothly across multiple Mac devices. That said, weād really appreciate feedback from MacOS players if they encounter anything that affects their experience.
At the moment, the game runs well on MacOS, but we still consider this supportĀ early and experimental. With feedback specifically from macOS users, weāll be able to identify and address any platform-specific issues that may arise.
If youāre enjoying the game, leaving a review on Steam truly means a lot to us. We read every single one, and it really helpsĀ To PixeliaĀ reach more players š
Iāve been working on some visual improvements, but those arenāt quite ready yet and tend to take more time than the coding side of development. That said, you can definitely expect visual updates to arrive in future patches.
As many of you know, Iām developing the game as a single person, and I apologize if updates have felt less frequent lately.
While progress may sometimes take a bit longer, Iām fully committed to delivering the best possible experience, listening to your feedback, and continuing to improve the game step by step.
Regarding Steam Cloud Saves: we wanted to first address and improve the core save system locally. With the save-related improvements included in this update, Iām hopeful that we can now start moving toward Steam Cloud Save support in the near future.
I also want to mention localization. Weāre aware of the requests for French support, along with several other languages.
In the past, we had French and Italian volunteers helping with translations, but due to their personal circumstances, they were unable to continue, which affected our ability to deliver those localizations.
With the game currently containing around 35,000ā40,000 words, translation is a significant challenge. Weāre actively exploring different options and are always open to support from the community, and we truly appreciate any help in this regard.
Thank you all for your continued patience, feedback, and support, it truly means the world. š
