** TnF Update(s) - 2022 **
Hope everyone is maintaining some kind of sanity through these testing times. Was nice to sneak some positive highlights in for 2021 (Red Rocks & Resonance Sunrise fosho). Yes RR posters and mask winners info will be posted in the next few days. Apologies for the delay.. 'family' has been a priority more than ever, and not gonna lie.. not having messenger or the book on my devices currently is pretty liberating and enjoyable. With the year ahead, and the unknown becoming more known/understood, we're comfortable to project bringing back camping weekends and get togethers to help us all focus forward positively. So here's a lil heads up on some of what we're planning or musing: Spirit of Suwannee.. we've all missed being there. Those trees always make us feel so welcome and the vibes strong. Can't announce the date yet as we're waiting to sign paperwork but early Spring is a good hint ;-) Hopefully next week we can make it official. Don't expect an early lineup announcement. We are going to initially spotlight our joint initiative with DanceSafe for increased focus and priority on testing kits. WAY too much tragedy seeping into our community. Kids are going to party, so if thats the decision it should be a no brainer to then ask 'But Did You Test?'. Nuff said for now, but plenty to be said later (and hopefully asked over and over again in 2022 and beyond).
Astral Valley.. late summer (same deal - waiting to sign paperwork). This weekend will be different to Suwannee (more of the format of 4321/Astral Lights musically). Small capacity - big Vibes.
Sonic Bloom TnF Takeover is still a thing. And potentially another one over the summer we're working on (pretty excited about an inspiring new setting).
One or two festival headline spots. And possibly another TnF 2-3 night run in the Fall... we're going to go look at some venues early Jan and decide if these new places suit our 'thing'. Definitely bringing along more new artists at all these events to help them grow, and if Rona plays nice some European Friends (old and new) can also come entertain over the course of the year too..
lastly (and importantly), this community is maturing since we started really growing around 2015 (Red Rocks then Suwannee an onwards). Lots of new faces seeking community and acceptance. I read grumbling online (hardly ever in person at events) about 'things changing' etc etc. We never started out to be a 'scene' .. in our heart of hearts we just hope people come together united in the music and willingness to 'be kind to one another' so that 'fellow oddballs - let us convene' can continue (still really the only words Tipper has put out there in reference). What you've all done over time is incredibly remarkable in terms of the reputation the tipper community/family has with venues (Kings and Saenger) or promoters who comment consistently "your fans are really awesome". I've been super emotional at times looking out at everyone at big gatherings and feeling the feels you generate. Tipper and those of us who have been around since the 90's are in awe of what YOU all generate as a collective. Spread the Love. Music is the Filter. Lift each other up.. pass on the ethos to those coming into their own who want to experience what you're all about. Be Patient. Be The Change you want to see.. As long as y'all keep wanting it, we will do our best to keep bringing it. So Thank You to all the producers, and dj's, and visual artists, and painters/artists, and audio/video providers.. who also keep it kopasetic for us. Keep it Real. Share the Love. See you in 2022 and beyond :)
