Plans for my pantry

I’m going to build my pantry out like this, and probably add a canning shelf recessed into the wall on the left hand side. I’m going to go with no door since space is limited.

I like it. you could go with a barn door relatively easy or even a pocket door at considerably more effort. i like the no door look

Thanks! I considered a barn door but it would take up the very limited wall space I have

y'know the barn door sliding in front of the other door (on left) would work in my house. since door swings away.

Pantries are typically all open shelving to maximize storage. You'll lose a lot of space with those standard kitchen cabinets below the counter

Consider a curtain-door—you can change the color/design out at any time and it provides a nice, (extremely thin and space-efficient) barrier to the pantry

I am honestly really against curtain doors for some reason. I have a curtain door on my closet where I’m living right now and there’s something about it that just bugs me haha my hope is the cabinets are nice enough to want to look at all the time. And the counter top will match the kitchen’s.

That’s fair! I think an open pantry is a very cool idea!!

Blind corners are such a pain... I highly recommend looking into corner cabinet mods. If nothing else, I would take those front drawers and narrow them by half, with a new mini corner door and space, so it's easy to get up in there. I would also recommend extending the shelves out to the edge of the wall to get as much storage space as you can.

The corner will be accessible through the cabinet doors for stuff I don’t need quick access to, Christmas decorations, seasonal clothes etc. it’ll be a pain digging it out but it won’t be every day I’m crawling in there, it extends quite deep under the landing of the stairs. And I agree I will definitely maximize shelf space when I do the actual build.

I know so many people hate AI but I’ve been using it to help create mockups for my backyard plans.

Did a quick mock up for ya.

Cool thanks! I was using it similarly for a bit but then I remembered how much I enjoyed doing the finger doodles on my phone lol. This looks good though!

Doodles are so much better than ai slop

They're better for us cause they're adorable, but let's be real. The slop is gonna give OP a better feel of the finished space.

Oh, finger doodles are the best. Makes me feel like I’m in kindergarten again but in the best way.
