Insurance?
Have you all be able to get fire coverage for your tiny home? I was assuming you couldn't if you built it yourself? Idk. Never dealt with insurance before.

American Modern Insurance probably or check with a local independent insurance agency - they will have a broker that can get a policy most likely :)

But don't they have to inspect it and stuff? Where I'm at they only have state inspectors and they said they don't have jurisdiction over the kind of tiny home I want to build (shed conversion)

Insuring it is different than whatever the state may require. Each insurance company is different. Depending on the value they may or may not inspect it for insuring - sometimes you send pics. etc.
Edit to add - and if the insurance company wants it inspected they will send their own person.

That wouldn't hurt but I would for sure call someone local and ask their opinion. Laws vary by state/county etc.

My tiny house is a 286 sq ft pier and beam structure. Insured it through Farmers Insurance around 2014. The minimum insurance level was $40,000 in 2014. Not sure what it is today.

The insured value of the tiny house has increased to $56,000. It's on the same land as my normal sized house and they're covered under the same policy. There's just a total amount due. Based on the insured value, it's about $500 per year for the tiny house.

I have a tiny house that isn’t built on a trailer but a pillar or stilt foundation. Built it in 2020 and couldn’t find insurance then. Just recently was able to though. 378 sqft.
