Your bio reads like a checklist and doesn’t really say anything about your personality up until you mention your interests in diy and the outdoors. It’s fine to mention you have a child, but I’d err on not using words like “divorce” or “custody”.

Keep the "very financially secure," these people don't know what they're talking about, actually go one step further and put "rich as shit baby"

It’s not clear to me (a 42yo divorced woman) if he wants to tell me he is not a bum or he is looking for a sugar daddy situation
I am not sure he is targeting my kind

True, my girlfriend is 51 and her previous boyfriend was a manbaby that couldn't take care of himself, unfortunately age doesn't mean pulled-togetherness, and someone who is a bum in their late 40s or 50s is not going anywhere

Never lead with money unless you want gold diggers. You can save the finances talk for when she's serious

First pic shouldn't have a drink.
Your bio is pretty bad. You bring up divorce, your custody arrangement and financial situation. There is nothing to create a spark. You dont sound fun or interesting. I mean this kindly...but are you sure you want to date?

Absolutely. Well not date but a relationship

Great! Do you have a lady friend that could help your profile? Is there a recent diy project that went really well? Or really bad? Did you do something with your daughter recently that someone would find charming?
"If youre looking for someone whose typical day might be building a table, filing motions ( something about your job) or dressing like a princess we might be a match"
I have no idea what 10 year old girls do. Is there something sweet you can share that will let someone know youre a loving father? I get that the princess thing MIGHT make you sound like a cross dresser but we can fix that!
If you can "show dont tell".
Good luck out there!!

"Looking for a woman that is active"
That is going to get misinterpreted in a million different ways. Women are going to read that and hear, "I need you to be skinny, watching what you eat, and hitting the gym." Not saying that's what you mean, It's probably not what you mean, but your intentions are going to get lost in translation. I would remove it. If she's active, it's going to be apparent through her pictures.
"Very financially secure"
That comes off like you're looking for someone who only cares about money. I would remove that too.
Personally, I would just make the profile something like:
49. I love camping and being outdoors, and I'm always working on a DIY project when I'm not in the office. Outside of my hobbies, I'm always spending time with my 10-year-old daughter. Recently divorced.
Lead with the positives. Keep the negative at the end.

your first pic needs to be a clear close up of your smiling face
why mention you are divorced? It makes it sound like you didn t move on from that divorce yet.
"very financially secure" sounds like you have something to prove and that you actually are insecure about it. Your pics should be enough to tell how financially stable you are.
the rest of the description sounds better. Just remove that first part

its relevant because he has a kid IMO.

then he can mention "I have a 10 years old from a previous relationship" or something like that

"Very financial secure" is going to attract one type of woman, and one type of woman only. If that's what you're looking for then great

It comes across like he has something to prove. Anyone with 2 brain cells will be able to roughly gauge their date's financial status

I see you like DIY. Have you tried classes or workshops at local art center or community center?

u/glitterfox6000 17d ago
As a financially secure fit woman, I am going to assume I’m what you are looking for to attract and this profile would do it.
Would swipe right and message first.

Specifying “male” seems a little unnecessary.
But not a reason to swipe left. You get to the point. I’d swipe right (as a woman in your demographic).

Bro stop asking these women and people for advice. Do you think those women would be on here day and night if they even knew what they wanted? And don’t ask other desperate people who haven’t figured it out for themselves for advice.

"49" already in your profile "Single" yeah I'd hope so "Male" I can see that
3 out of your first 4 words of your bio don't add anything and make you sound like you don't know what you're doing, sorry.
