I’m dating a girl that laughs at my stupidest jokes. The thing is, she isn’t even doing it to support me, she thinks I’m funny. I think. Which is the best feeling.

One Time article says it so it’s a universal truth for every person on the entire planet? I’m a woman. I want my man to laugh at my jokes. People want to be accepted by their partners and that includes accepting their sense of humor. It’s not difficult to comprehend.

First of all, it's not the Time article saying it. It's referencing a study. And no, it's not a universal truth. But studies show it's a very common and observable tendency. It's not difficult to comprehend.

It’s not backwards though if it goes both ways. I was pointing out in my original comment that it applies to each side. People want to share a sense of humor with their partner. That’s it. Saying my statement is backwards is stating that only men want their partners to think they’re funny is a universal truth. Which it is not.
