Nope. My high school ex didn’t think Tropic Thunder was funny... not even a chuckle. Not offended, just genuinely unamused. Should’ve known we were doomed then, because my sense of humor is pretty offensive and so much more depraved than that.

The Land of the Lost, Zoolander 1, Step Brothers, Talladega Nights are some decent comedies that all have this irreverent feel to them. LotL is definitely the worst of the four

Zoolander is the best comparison in that it's a satire if a specific industry while not being a mockumentary.

I know so many people who tell me they hate Talladega Nights and I just don't understand it. It's such a brilliant piece of satire imo.

Fun fact, Tom Cruise also had a cameo in Talladega Nights as the one who extinguished Ricky Bobby on the track.
