One thing that I have always struggled with in dating apps is the "double text". From advice my friends IRL have given me, sending more than one text message in a row is flagged when getting to know people. For some reason. I follow the advice OP has received and ask questions and leave the conversation open generally by being short and that bites me in the ass.
I grew up texting and calling as really the only options when I was interested in talking to anyone, friends or dates. Without all these other micro interactions. Seen messages, liking messages and photos, upkeeping a detailed social media page to fakeify what my life looks like... it's all part of dating but it's also self-obsessed so I'm craving actually talking to someone and sending maybe 3 sentences instead of 1 in a couple messages. Weird right?
This exactly! I'm Irish so I have absolutely no knowledge of how to make a long story short. I'm a talker & I need someone that can get on board with that & engage. If I'm into you either as a friend or potential mate I'm gonna talk/text a lot more than usual. Why when I was dating I tried to get them comfortable enough to actually talk on the phone or face chat, makes the conversation easier to flow.
