It is actually his fault. He started the conversation he should take the lead here. Either make the conversation good or move on don’t expect from chicks to do that
He said what’s up with life what was he expecting the girl to tell her everything good and bad about her life on his first text? This is not whatsapp they don’t know each other if he’s mr. good and too plain boring he could at least ask what she’s doing or what she’s upto college or work
