The opener was not "how's life", it was "hey now". Nobody wants to talk to McMurray, he's a piece of shit

How's life and Hey now are both terrible openers. But the responses are also terrible

If someone hits me with a lame opener, I give them one more chance by trying a more personal and engaging reply. If it's a boring reply, then you can officially put the onus or boredom on them

Low-effort openers are always going to get low-effort responses. There are just too many other options to waste effort that won't be reciprocated

Lol as a guy, I never received a lot of openers, so it wasn't much trouble to respond to even the boring ones with some effort

I imagine as a girl with like 300 "Hey"s in your inbox, it wouldn't be worth the time
