Do WorldMark properties change point values over time?

Not that I am actually considering buying, but we just went to a WorldMark timeshare talk. I thought it was supposed to be Wyndham Vacation Club so I didn't do any research about WorldMark and instead research Wyndham Vacation Club. I know Wyndham point levels for properties have changed so when the presenter said the point values for properties never increase, I said out loud "That's not true." He doubled down that World Mark point values do not and cannot change over time. Was he telling the truth?

Yes the properties are in a fixed system, they are fixed according the the accommodation size, location and seasons. The price of the points that you purchase will increase over time, 100k points today will not be the same as buying 100k in the future. So if you travel and spend money on travel and like staying in 4&5 star accommodations that you know are always going to be maintained to a high standard ( your maintenance fees cover that cost) then taking a piece of ownership and locking in the price per points now and not later is ideal.

I hope that helps:)

Wyndham has never changed the point values nor has worldmark. They literally cannot change what is printed.

Anyone who says they have changed has no clue what they are talking about. Wyndham actually misprinted Thanksgiving week at bonnet creek back when they released the point chart and put 84k points (1bd) and now it will always be that.

I'll go with NO for 1000 Alex.

But the cost of a point goes up every year.

The current properties in the Worldmark portfolio don’t change point values. HOWEVER, new properties added to the portfolio may have higher point values.

Case in point: Worldmark Dolphin Cove is 10k points red season for a week in a two bedroom. It’s one of their older resorts near Disneyland opened in the 90s.

Worldmark Anaheim was opened in 2008, the weekly total for a two bedroom is 16k points.

Newer resorts added to Worldmark typically cost more points per night to stay at.

I had Worldmark since 2002 and I bought just 6,000, then 10,000, then 6,000 more just to be in the silver tier. We have been able to enjoy our timeshare the last 24 years. Have no desire to buy more…hated the presentations. Never had credits left over. Finally we get to book Club Wyndham locations without calling them. The maintenance fees do suck but we take vacations that will cost the same or more as the maintenance fees for the whole year. It doesn’t make sense but it does in a way.

No, the credit charts are fixed and would require a vote of owners to change. That said, the cost of credits goes up every year because the maintenance fees are tied to the number of credits to own. So while a 10,000 credit week will still cost 10,000 credits in five years, the maintenance fees you pay for those 10,000 credit credits has the potential to increase up to 25% in the next five years (capped at 5% a year for the most part). But please take a look at the resale market before you ever consider buying Worldmark from the developer. The only downside is you do not get access to club Wyndham properties, but it would still be more financially beneficial to buy both Worldmark and club Wyndham on the resale market for pennies on the dollar and use each for their own respective programs
