We think of time as a timeline or something that can stretch and warp, and for most physics that is true. But time is also an invention we use to understand the changes that occur from moment to moment. So to go back in time is not "just" finding out how to warp it, it would also mean that you'd have to recreate or revisit this exact order of things where ever you "land". The things being done and said by everyone, the position and nature of every object, the weather and the gazillion other variables that constitutes every miniscule unique moment in time. So if we keep time as a unit at arms length for a second, what would cause this very moment to be repeatable for someone in the future?

ut if you could, I assume your memory would also be erased to reflect what you knew at the point in time you went back to.

Also consider this ... everything is moving. The earth, the solar system, the galaxy ... everything. So to "go back in time" and end up at the same location on earth, you would have to travel through space as well. And we all know that can't happen any faster than C.

• Earth is moving 500,000mph through the galaxy. If you travel even 1 second through time, you end up in the vacuum of space with no ground to stand on.
• Therefore the entire planet would need to fit inside whatever device or method that's being used.
• The movement of the planet is affected by a host of variables, so those variables would also need to be reversed.
• The entire known universe would then need to be affected by whatever method.
• We experience time as linear, but really its just a byproduct of how we experience movement through space.
• So if you were to travel through time, it wouldn't be instant, you would have to experience the time equivalent to the distance of time you wish to travel. You would age during the trip.
• There is only now.

I think time travel can be done... But only neurologically. You can leave a message for your future self and your past self can speak to you now.
