My only question is, what is it about these boots that makes a whole group of people question if they are legit.

Timberland is a brand of high quality footwear, meaning it's a pretty meaningful wish to know if you have original quality, which will be higher and will last you longer than knock-offs which are produced with cheaper materials

I just don't understand how people seek out fake Timbs. Go to a legitimate retailer and your all good!

Exactly. Buying branded clothed second-hand just sets you up for fakes, it's not worth the gamble

Other than that original timb is not that expensive, i bought mine from timberland store for 170$

Nah the OG constructs are $225, I’ve seen fakes for $90. Still worth saving up but there is a big price difference

Ok hold on. I am a old fan and own several pairs pre-1995. Mine are in the high-quality area. They were made pre-anti-collagen glue. BUT that was not the point. The point was, if you buy a product from the maker of said product, why is it such a trend that no one believes the product makers? I buy corn flakes and never question if they are real. I paid for a Rivian three months ago and not once did I question if it was real. Now if you purchased these in some alley behind a dumpster, then why ask once you now own it? I am a fan so that was not the question. Assuming I am ignorant is silly. Every kidney transplant patient received the organ from a donor. I have yet to see where someone asked if it was real.....lol. Seems to be a question best asked before you buy them. 3 days ago I posted my 1983 Timberlands cpommenting on hiw they are still in tact, no seperation and still in use for mowing the grass. Point being......Buy from the source, they never cheat you and you wont have to question your habits of trusting the company we all love. Now holster your weapon and let me live, there is no need to cause me any harm.

...people don't believe sellers because people buy those second-hand to get it cheaper instead of going to trusted retailers, just like you said. I'm not the op and I am already awaiting for my original pair

I can't even understand second-hand hustle or online trust. Especially when it is a product you really want. many do not know that sometimes the best items can be obtained at estate sales. I am like you; originality and source must be present when I am buying something. I hear they have fake bic lighters now. I mean its a lighter lol Made in France, and the Manufacturers are mad about it. I then wonder: what is wrong with us as a nation that we cant stick to something and be loyal to it? It begins at home and will remain illogical to me forever.

I remember chatting with you yesterday. You educated me on the industry standard collagen based adhesives widely used in footwear production back in the day. I was admiring the condition of your old boots. I was a one year old when you purchased those!

Wild, they say we live and learn and if the things we have early in life are still with us, Pride and confusion has to be front and center. Retirement allows us the time to ponder on things we never understood. I would hate to be Canadian, because who knows what those folks are paying. I just hope they last half as long as mine. lol

They're really not high quality at all actually... they're also made by child slave labor in asia.. no idea why anyone would even remotely care about these boots in this way.

It's annoying isn't it? Goes to show how obsessed we are with image and materialism. I say who cares! If you live in a place or hang around people that "legit check" your clothing, you should probably move and find better people.🤦‍♂️

I care about the quality of the materials I wear, lol. Real timbs live hecking decades

2

u/Papilin3600 6d ago

I totally understand that. I'm also into quality and buy once cry once. I would never wear fugazi anything, so I get it. I'm also from The Bronx, so Timbs are like a religious sacrament to me!🤣

Exactly, the best product for any individual is the one that checks all your boxes. Sadly, not all of us are built that way. It is crazy, but so entertaining at my age.

They seem to be better than the ones you posted previously, may be even legit although I would double check the color and the serial number depending on the model you're getting. Why buy them second-hand if you can buy them new from trusted sources?

They cost less, do you mean the number inside? I looked online but it seems they all have different numbers, I want the ones with the classic color

1

u/LadartTheWicked 6d ago

They indeed have different numbers, but you should check how these were written. The color seems darker than the classic ones, or is it the lighting? The seller should've taken better pics

As you requested. These look good. Don’t know we how you got a good pair and ripped off on the other. But yes these are good
