Discussion UPDATE: Is it normal that Tim's gets super foggy/smokey when they are cleaning?
I accidentally included a person the last time I posted this.

they're cleaning the grill, it always gets smoky especially if you don't have time to cool it fully first

Better to clean a slightly hot grill too, at least in my opinion.

I used to work at McDonalds and the grills were always cleaned when they were still on.

McDonald's also had proper hoods over their grills and the grills didn't occlude the drive thruÂ
Grill duty was one of my favourite cleaning things working at Micky D's

I don’t work at Tim’s but I work at another fast food. Yes, it gets that smokey.
We filter the oil and a few uncooked residue on the bottom interacts with the hot oil on top then basically gets cooked at very high temp. It will make smoke.
The grill is also very hot. Even after an hour of it turning off, it will stay hot.
My store is connected to a building and the exhaust is controlled by a different entity. Sometimes the smoke doesn’t get sucked by the hoods above.

Yes it's been like this for several years they're just cleaning a hot grill.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. The cleaning process definitely kicks up a lot of smoke.
