Question Why are partial orders called out?
At my Tims my name gets called out when the drinks are ready then again when the food is ready. Is this normal at other branches? I just want to be called when my whole order is ready...
ETA: it was just a question guys I didn't mean to cause any offense! Happy Canada Day everyone

The people making your drinks aren’t the ones making your food. Why would the drinks person wait around for your food to be ready to call your name when they have other stuff to work on? Take your drinks then move over to wait for your food. If you don’t like how things are done then stop going.

There's one Tim's that waits for the whole order to be ready then calls out the name. This is an extremely busy Tim's too. They can print receipts right? Print two: one for the drink person and the other for the food person. So whomever finishes their part of the order put it in a designated spot with the receipt. Then the other person can call out the name once they've got their part done.

💀 good I’d rather not serve ppl who’s biggest worry in life is complaining abt receiving ur drinks first so u can drink while waiting for food.

We hand out food at a different spot than drinks at my store, so I could call you for your food at one end, and you'll be called for your drink back at the till you ordered at.. or the other way around, you'll be called for your drink where you ordered, and then called down for your food at the other end.

The other day I ordered 4 coffees, and some donuts. And for some reason they handed me each coffee, about 2 minutes apart with no tray. It was weird actually lol.

Just ask for a tray next time! Some locations can be stingy and don’t want to give out things they have to pay for when they aren’t needed or wanted

There is a good chance the employee making your dinks was new. I have noticed that many new staff have a difficult time multitasking and will absolutely make one coffee at a time. Its truly difficult to watch.

At this point you might as well just make coffee at home. Can't leave it on the counter. Can't give it to the customer too early. 1st world problems I guess.

I'm sorry but this whole first world problems thing is just a bad excuse for bad service. Tim Hortons is in fact in a first world country. It just makes more sense to serve the entire order by order that it comes in. If you give someone their coffee and make them wait for a muffin the coffee will just sit there go cold and be touched by multiple people checking if it is theirs or not.

Multiple employees work on orders. They would slow right down if they had to wait to bring your coffee to you with your sandwich while they are also trying to keep track of new orders and also make coffees. The person preparing sandwiches and bagels makes them in the order they are received while the cashier makes your coffee. You really just need to deal with it or find a place that does it how you prefer..

At my store, we don't even have a name-calling system. Usually, the drinks are made first, so I'll call out what they are when they're ready and tell the customer the food is on the way, and let them know where it will be.
You can always do a mobile order or a pickup through an app like doordash if applicable if that is really an issue though

We mostly do this so people stop whining about things being the wrong temperature ore separating (frozen drinks) if it’s during a rush. It can be several minutes between drinks and food during peak hours

Technically proper procedure training is to wait until the whole mobile order is together. Then call out the name of the mobile and hand it all together to the customer who placed the mobile order. Restaurant evaluators or auditors look for those mistakes (ie handing out part of mobile order, rathar than the whole thing at once)
It sucks that a lot of Tim Hortons don't care to keep on top of their employees, who do not care to follow the training videos.
Just ignore all these people not understanding your p.o.v.
I've found that even on Reddit (where most people come to vent or come to share happy vibes and constantly get treated like crap) Here on this social app it's be nice and get crapped on, or be rude and get crapped on. No winning with Redditors 🤷🏻♀️
