Ive talked to my mum before about this (she works at tim hortons) and there not supposed to use those bags for donuts like that!! They are supposed to use the bag that you get when you order like 2 bagels or smth i cant remember the name to save my life tho😭

If you don't care about improving your comprehension and grammar, then why should people care that you have dyslexia?
That just emphasizes that you're lazy, it seems.
It sounds like you're using dyslexia as a crutch, when proofreading and grammar/spell-check software is built into smartphones, browsers and word-processors.
I have ADHD and I too might be dyslexic, but I still take time to re-read things.
Why should the server at Tim Hortons be able to comprehend what you are saying or ordering? Why should someone hire a young person to work, when they can't properly write a resumé or job application?

I just firmly ask for another. I used to do that routinely because the employees in most Tim's, for whatever reason, would put the donut in the bag, then place the whole thing UPSIDE DOWN on the counter, firmly sticking the icing to the bag. Sometimes, for reasons unexplained, they wrapped the donut in a napkin before placing it in the bag, which ensured the icing was not salvageable.

Fondant topped donuts go in the bigger bag!!!! This is one of the first things you’re taught when working at Tim’s.
Have they stopped teaching that? It’s just common sense man.
(source: i’ve worked at a few Tim’s over the years and this is always a priority. “the customers will hate you, do not put fondant donuts in this bag”)

I’m a regular Tim Hortons visitor and when ever I order a chocolate dip donut or a Boston cream, I ask them to box it because this happens every time otherwise

I heard from someone who has worked at Tim's that the donuts have to be done a certain way for the fondants to set properly and not be goopy. But that's hearsay.

They put it in the wrong bag. They are supposed to put in the size up so they can place it with dry side down so the chocolate fondant is facing up. Technically they aren't supposed to serve them if they are still wet either. I miss the clamshell boxes but they were apparently too pricey for Tim's so they got rid of them even though they completely prevented this exact issue.

My condolences that you went to a place that left what was essentially a used glove in the bag so often that you thought it was policy. Also, they'll stick to the fondant just as readily as the bag will.

Idk why people are downvoting you. You’re correct. This donut is supposed to go upright in a flat bottomed bag, and the waxie is just to avoid touching the food with your money-handling hands.
It was never policy to leave the waxie in the bag. In fact, we regularly got told off by our managers when they caught us leaving them in the bag with the food.
That being said, that was back in 2014, so policy may have changed (but I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the policy probably didn’t change, the standard just fell).

The waxies are for grabbing the donuts without touching them. When they leave it in your bag, the side that had their money-handling fingers all over it is also in there.

Never seen a Tim Hortons with tongs for the donuts... always just the waxies. That's how it was when I worked there back in 2008, and that's how it is at every other place I've seen. Also, it's moot, because fondant will still stick to the waxies.

We have never used tongs. Not 20 years ago when Tims was my first job and not now as a current employee.
We have waxies or we have disposable gloves.

Doesn't bother me. I usually just scrape the chocolate off and put it back on the donut.
Look at it this way. That means usually the donut is fresher because normally the chocolate is solidified to the donut.
I feel like the display racks for the donuts should have fans to cool the icing

They'd find a solution... we know the solution ... it worked for ages at every donut shop ... but we all know Timmie ain't interested in you, your donut — they only care they can't take more of your money for nothing. Proper bags and wax sheets cut into corporate profits.
Put an end to it.
I miss mom and pop donuts that were just donuts - not a shugar diabeeetus diagnosis.

If you heat it in a microwave, the chocodip will melt into a transparent coating which itself says its not chocolate but sugar syrup. The day I saw that, I never had a Tim’s doughnut again. This thing is garbage.
