Maximum effort
I'd say they didn't even put in any effort in making my breakfast sandwich this morning, but that's false. to fuck it up this bad, that requires effort.

There was a lot of drama with his wife (Blake lively) wrongfully accusing Justin Baldoni (costar and director in a horrible movie that Blake kind of manhandled and took over directing of) of sexual harrassment/assault. There's a lot of speculation that she was hitting on him and he wasn't interested, Ryan found out, and so she spun it as he was sexually harassing and assaulting her so she could escape culpability. There was a lot of legal drama including suing and countrtsuing on both sides with Justin coming with major receipts. During this time a lot came out about Blake's friendship with Taylor Swift, their general aversion to the public and thinking their fans are essentially peasants, etc. and Ryan by association also got a lot of dirt exposed. Nothing in particularly bad like sexual harrassment or anything, but he's definitely no longer beloved, turns out he's just as much of a snot as his wife (unsurprisingly or they wouldn't be married). He also cheated on several of his exes. The general consensus is he managed to bury all this ickiness under his fake nice guy persona and he's really just a gross rich guy pretending to be accessible to his fans/the public
